Description of the Galena vacation cabin rental

A wonderful, charming and relaxing location to take a break from life or to party it up. Walking distance is Lake Galena where you can rent a boat to cruise around, go fishing, or dock at random places and explore the forest. Fish (lots of it) from the peer or rent a boat, enjoy volleyball, soccer, basketball and tennis courts, as well as one of the best Golf courses in the world! Nearby is Galena town with its civil war-era charm, private wineries with wine tasting every day, local cheese makers, unique sauces, sweets, as well as antique stores. Fine selection of restaurants, from fancy French, Italian, to small town diners and burger joints (one literally called 'Burger Joint', its awesome!). About 20 minutes away is the Mississippi river and town of Dubuque. There you can find vegas-style casinos. This is a great destination for a family vacation, or just a friends getaway to nature. We can house up to 20 people in 2 houses.

40th B-day Couples Weekend

October 18, 2012

The home was a cute log cabin in the Galena Territory. The house was nice for the 3 couples who stayed. There was a brand new stove and microwave which was great for cooking breakfast. The newer hot tub was also a nice addition. The master bath and full bathroom could use some updating. It was wonderful that we were able to rent this 4 bedroom home at a 3 bedroom price since that was all the space we needed. Overall we had a very nice stay and enjoyed viewing the fall foliage and wild turkeys roaming near the house.

Wonderful Home!

We had a wonderful time on our family weekend! The house was great, enough room for everyone. We were within walking distance of the lake, we even rented a pontoon boat one day. There were trails to hike on, beautiful scenery. All in all, it was a wonderful family retreat!

This place was awsome. The Cabin was wonderfully set up and had almost everything you could of thought of. The washer and dryer came in handy as well. The sights were breath taking and the folks in Galena were charming. We will for sure go back and stay longer 3 night was definately not enough.
