This is a minors cottage originally built in the 1830's, although it has been remodeled, much of it's historic charm has been preserved. There are two bedrooms, each with queen size beds, a formal dinningroom, den, sitting room, livingroom and full amenities kitchen. During the warmer days, there is a quiet yard to relax in. Located in a dead-end street, it is just a ten minute walk or 3 minute drive to Galena's historic main st where you can see the oldest post office in the nation, or see the balcony that President's have debated on.

Galena is the home town of president Grant, his boyhood home can be view there along with the historic Belevidere mansion. Also, you are within driving distance from Chestnut Mountain - one of the midwest's premier ski resorts. The mighty mississippi is also a short drive away. Dubuque Iowa is 13 miles up route 20, there you can find casino boats and more.
