Great Family getaway next to the SeaWall

July 26, 2013

This condo is a nice quaint place for a small family to visit Galveston. Your steps away from beach, and is located near a large number of restaurants in walking distance. The condo is cozy and has an okay view of the gulf. I would come back here.

Wonderful Family Vacation!

July 17, 2013

Our family of six enjoyed a great week of summer fun right across the street from the beach in this perfectly situated condo - right at a crosswalk! It was perfect to spend time at the beach, shower off at the pool shower, then spend a bit of time in the cool pool on the hot afternoons. The cleaning crew failed to clean the rugs in our condo (new rugs would be our strong suggestion to the owner), so we were constantly wiping the floors down to keep the hair and junk tracked off them, but other than that and a bit of other preliminary cleaning, we enjoyed our stay. Wilma & Betty were quick to respond to any inquiry, and made sure we were taken care of. Hope to get back there before too long!

Clean and convenient

August 27, 2012

The cleaning lady was just finishing up so we were able to access the room a little early, which was nice. The bunk beds were a little small for our teenagers (there were three) but both futons folded out and there was plenty of sleeping room for everyone - but only one set of sheets. (2 adults and 3 grown teenagers 16, 19 and 19). Bring your own blankets - there was only the comforter in the bedroom and the teenagers said the bunk blankets were sticky (I didn't think so but they are teenagers). The bed in the Master Bedroom was a little too soft for my husband and me but we were only there two nights and it was clean. CLEAN is the operative word here! The electic outlets could use a little updating and so could the stove top (fortunately, we didn't need to cook anything - I tried to boil water for my French Press and the water only got warm). I know all of this seems like complaining but it was nice and clean and definitely convenient for us. It was REALLY nice to sit on the balcony in the evening and morning. PERFECT view of the beach. The property seemed to be well maintained and I never felt fearful when in the parking lot in the evening by myself. The pools were small but functional. I mean, we were in Galveston across from the beach and spent all day on Monday at Schlitterbahn so who cares about the pools. Overall, I think the rate I paid for sleeping five people was well worth it. AND I would definitely use Wilma and Betty Beach rentals again - they were so nice and easy to work with.

Disappointed about damage deposit

August 25, 2011

My daughter and friends stayed here for Spring Break. They enjoyed the condo but were surprised after the fact to learn that their deposit would not be returned because of a spot to clean on the floor. They left the unit clean and question whether there really was a spot or perhaps it was already there but covered up by a rug. When they contacted the owners to inquire, they did not feel that they were treated fairly.

Perfect place to stay!

August 3, 2011

This condo was very clean and perfect for our family of 4. Loved the balcony, morning coffee and a good view of the water. 2 minute walk to the beach and a few small shops. Also just about a 5 minute walk to Kroger's grocery and Wal-mart was within a short walking distance also.

Safari Condo

June 18, 2011

This was a great place to stay right across seawall blvd. The beaches were nice and the sound of the waves from the balcony where just what we wanted. Head straight out and left on the beach and its all sand great for nice walks on the beach.

Nice but small

April 24, 2011

This property is fine for the price but it should not be listed as 2 bedrooms. There is a bunkbed built in the hallway for the kids and 1 bathroom. There are 2 futons that can be used in the front room. There is a nice view of the beach. The room was fine and all you needed was there. I would suggest no more than 2 adults and 2 children otherwise it would be very crowded, especially with the 1 bathroom. Overall the condo was nice. We just had 4 children- too many for the small space.

Will Not Return!!

September 2, 2010

This was our first stay in Galveston and we will find a different place to stay next time. For the price it was fine but the shower ruined it for me. It most definitely needs to be updated it was horrible, it looked like someone rolled paint in it to change the color of it. The bathroom towels were brand new and had never been washed, the paper tags were still on them which is not very sanitary what so ever. It was close quarters for my husband, myself and our 3 year old son. It can sleep 6 but I would never do that there. Be sure to double check your lock box combo with the tenants before you arrive or you could get stuck outside your room for almost an hour trying to use an incorrect combo and only one phone number to reach the tenants which they rarely answer. It says you can see the ocean from the balcony, it is a tiny view not what you would expect at all. It is across the street from the beach but we used it one day and then drove to a paid entry beach simply because they were much cleaner and not covered in kids with unattentive parents. The pool at the facility stays full with unsupervised kids and one night some girls were taking pretty inappropriate pictures of each other which prevented us from using it. The Holiday Inn Suites would have been a much better stay for around the same price. Definitely shop around!! We found several other places we will for sure consider next year.

July 23, 2010

I don't want to stay there again. 1st: Karen, contact owner, is a Cheater! Unintentionally packed two dirty old smelly comforters with mine and put them in the storage at home. Just found we have them at home and Karen never refunded $150 damage deposit, even part of it, and charged me $150 fully for those dirty old smelly comforters without any contact. Isn't it unfair? I called Karen and she hung up the phone in the middle of the conversation. How rude! I called her again and she never got the phone. 2nd: 80's TV, uncomfortable beds, dirty bunk beds, and dirty old smelly comforters!!! Please never stay there. You will regret it.

Great Vacation

May 6, 2010

We had a great vacation in Galveston. The ocean view was beautiful and the folks at the condo were courteous and helpful when we had questions. There are all kinds of restaurants in walking distance of the condo so we didn't have to drive everywhere. Thank you for helping make our vacation a memorable one.
