SWe actually stayed in condo 117 at the same property, Casa Del Mar, which was managed by the same owners, Wilma and Bertty. Traveling with 4 kids, my husband and I were very pleased with the accomodations. Everything was at our fingertips; Rainforest Cafe, the new fair on Pier 21, Jet Ski rentals...it was all within 2 minutes by auto along the seawall. Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens was 2 minutes as well but was deeper into the island. Check out Condo 117 with its newly redone hardwood floors. The view was of the ocean, but also that off the gas station and McDonald's across the street due to the angles the condos. Check out Seascapes and Diamond Beach Resorts if you want to be on the beach, but from my inquiries you are looking at a difference of at least 100 to 200 bucks more a night. I'm sure the condo might have got a little cramped if we would have wanted to stay in all day and night, but our family is more along the lines of being out and about to experience and see what the area had to offer. By staying here, not only was the beach easily accessible, the decor inviting, and the property clean, but we were able to bag 2nd day tickets for all 6 of us to Schlitterbahn in exchange for staying here as opposed to those condos actually on the beach. We will be back again!!!
