A 2 minute walk to Seawall, beaches, eateries, grocery and Trolley to the Strand District shopping/Cruise Ship Dock. You'll love the location and comfortable liveability of this East-end historic home built in 1906 and up-dated with all the modern conveniences. But sorry, no Victorian furniture here--comfort and relaxation abound! It's a blend of simple sea-side classics combined with a fresh contemporary flair. Perfect for a rejuvenating stay! We fondly dubbed our home "The Big Blue Parrot House" and you can't miss it! It sits proudly one block off the Seawall on historic 25th St. (Rosenberg Ave), which "ends" at the Flagship Hotel, a Galveston landmark and the locals' favorite surf beach. You are centrally located to all major Galveston attractions.

The downstairs floorplan is an open and spacious combo living-dining-entry area with cable TV, a stereo, and DVD on a 57" big screen. The dining table seats 6 and two-teak fold down tables set up easily between the dining-living area to seat an additional 6. Plus half dozen "TV" tables make quick "kid tables, too! The up-dated kitchen, also spacious, is fully equipped for your cooking enjoyment with microwave, oven, gas-range, D/W, disposal and purified water dispenser and rapid-ice-maker in the fridge. A full bath with walk-in tiled shower is downstairs. The upstairs floorplan includes 3 bedrooms and another full bath with tub. Sleeping accommodations for 12 including 2 queens, 3 full loft-style beds and two twins. Additional futon/sofa sleepers provide accomodations for up to 15. All bedrooms have a CD/DVD player and the 2nd bedroom has the 2nd 57" big screen, which may be viewed from the upstairs veranda--perfect for watching the big games!!

Location, Location, Location!...Conveniences do abound like a 2 minute juant to the locals' favorite surfing beach or to the Seawall Trolley stop that delivers you to the Historic Strand for $1. The Strand offers a variety of good food, shopping and fun special events from monthly events like "Art Walks" to holiday favorites like "Dicken's on the Strand." "Big Blue" is conveniently one block from a local full-service grocery store and there's a beverage shop with full service wine cellar capabilities!

And don't forget Mardi Gras from "Big Blu's" fabulous 2nd floor veranda!! Book now for Mardi Gras '08 and you'll be eye-to eye with the floats on the parade-side of the street at just the 2nd house at the start of the big Mardi Gras parade finale! It's the perfect perch for the whole family for catching strands upon strands of beads--and you may see yourself on the 57" big screen, too!

And with full-sized verandas, top and bottom facing East and West, you can choose enjoying Galveston sun or gulf breezes from the comfort of your own home away from home!

If you choose venturing past 'Big Blu's" conveniences, you'll find Galveston is a unique and eclectic coastal town that combines high-brow and hometown mixed with Texas attiude. Galveston is an island rich in history and charm.

Located just 50 miles from Houston, it's an easy day trip from many points thoughout Texas with simple air access to Hobby airport domestically or Houston's IAH for International travelers. The Clear Lake area is less than 30 mins North on IH45 and provides famous area attractions like NASA Space Center or shopping at Bay Brook Mall, which rivals Houston's Galleria.

• Deposits: After you make your reservation, we'll (e)mail you a rental contract and a guest registration form. Your reservation is not confirmed until we receive these signed documents with your security deposit. At 30 days prior to your check-in date we must receive your payment in full in order to maintain your reservation. Failure to do so will invoke the cancellation policy and you will lose your guaranteed reservation. A refundable security deposit placed by credit card of $600 is required on all
   
• Other Fees: Linen fee is a $125 minimum to 8 guests. 8 guests and above is $10 per additional person. Linen sets include: pillow, sheets, blanket, comforter, bath & hand towels and washclothes in gernerous supply (please bring your own beach towels and kindly leave the bath towels in the house!) You may opt for cleaning service at $125 per cleaning. It is expected Big Blue' be left as clean as when you arrived. If upon departure Big Blue needs cleaning (sheets and towels not included)a $125 cleaning fee

Our stay was fun-filled from the time we arrived til the moment we left. We were close to everything, and we never moved our cars - we walked to dinner at Fish Tails, Ice Cream for the kids, Murdochs Bathhouse, and, of course, the beach... We can hardly wait to do it again!

This house is absolutely beautiful, all the luxuries you could possibly ask for. Two families stayed with plenty of room to spare. We had such a great time and felt completely at home.
