We love it! Thank you so much for letting us renting your house. Everything was perfect. We rent kayak for the boys and they even deliver to the house. Very clean and everything is rand new. Caught some fish but didn't have any luck with crab.

Weekend Holiday Getaway

We had two families, a total of four adults and three children, stay at the house for three nights and we enjoyed all of the space. The views from the swing and the dock were beautiful and relaxing. The beach is located across the main road from the development and was very convenient...the kids loved playing in the water and on the sand. There were a few wear-and-tear issues (broken toilet paper holder, broken spindles on the staircase, broken bar stools in the kitchen). However, the owner was aware of the issues and stated that these would be repaired. The house was generally clean. Of course, if you looked under the beds and in the corners of the rooms you would see these places had not been cleaned for some time. For the price, this was the perfect house for the weekend.

We enjoyed the house for a weekend. The house was beautiful and the view was awesome and there was nothing we needed that wasnt provided. I will definately be back several times in the near future. The owners we the best; very friendly, helpful, and courteous. I totally recommend this beachhouse.

Friendships rule in Almost Paradise
October 31, 2010
Almost Paradise encouraged and nurtured the reunion of friendships of forty years. After we survived the twenty some steps to get in and then the sixteen or so to get to the upstairs bedrooms, we were in great shape! The sunsets and moon rises were spectacular. We enjoyed the deck immensely. The tour and sights of Galveston were a additional bonus. Although there were some cleaning service issues, it was a memorable experience. We plan to revisit in a year or so!

Almost Paradise Lives Up to Its Name

I can't say enough good things about our experience. Reserving the bay house was easy and Craig was extremely responsive to all my questions. The house itself was perfect. Large enough for three generations of our family (14 people)and the location on Galveston bay was perfect. Fishing, crabbing, swimming and some of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen. Beach access is just across the highway. The beach was clean and uncrowded. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and offered all the amenities you could ask for. I had trouble accessing the key when we arrived (operator error) and Craig answered my call for help on the first ring and was patient and understanding as he walked me through the solution. The house is far enough down the island that we didn't have to worry about crowds on the beach but close enough to be convenient when we did go into Galveston for dinner or activities like Moody Gardens. Everything in the house (the appliances, tile flooring, carpeting, paint, mattresses, etc.) were like new. My sister said her mattress was the most comfortable she's ever slept on. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. We trapped enough crabs right off the pier to have a big crab boil our last night there. All the locals we met were friendly and helpful. Our neighbors even provided some helpful advice on how to clean and cook the crabs we caught. We are already planning next year's trip to Almost Paradise. It was everything we had hoped for and

Family Get-to-gether

We stayed at Almost Paradise from June 5 - June 9, 2009. It was "almost paradise"! All our children and grandchildren were able to come, 17 in all and we had plenty of room. The kids fished off the dock and swam at the beach beside the house. The house was spaceous, clean, and open. I loved being able to see the bay from all the bedrooms! I would highly recommend this rental.

Thank you. The house is beautiful and we had a great time. We had one 3 year old with us, who loved the private beach and all of the hermit crabs that he could catch! It is a beautiful location. We fished, rented kayaks, and just sat under the house, which always had a great breeze. I cannot think of anything that would make the house more enjoyable.

We had the best time! Perfect for us. My husband really enjoyed fishing, we made friends with the neighbors, the kids enjoyed shelling on the private beach, the gulf side was perfect, too. The best of both worlds! The house had everything we needed. We definitely want to return! We've stayed in Galveston for years and this was our favorite house. Beautiful sunsets every night sitting on the deck. We want to come back and stay w/out the kids next time! Thanks!!!

12/14/08 This beach house is spectacular. Our family celebrated a birthday with several families which all fit very comfortably in this house. The rooms are all very spacious and the house has all the comforts of your own home. The kids all loved the fishing dock and the sand area. We would definitely love to go back and would recommend this property to anyone.

08/13/08 We really enjoyed our stay at the house. It was a family reunion of 4 families and their chilren. The location on the bay was perfect esp with the little beach for the kids.As a fisherman the only thing missing was a place near the dock to clean our catch. I'm sure we'll be back.

07/15/08 Our Family and friends thoroughly enjoyed oursewlves during our stay. We docked our fishing boat out back and fished every morning we were there. The sunsets were awesome and the house was spacious and easily accomodated our clan. All in all a great week~.

My favorite features were the porch swing overlooking the water, the deck and balconies where you can watch the sun set over the water, and the raised bar island in the kitchen which made food prep and putting out party food very convenient. Look forward to visiting again...

06/08/08 Sometimes you find the accomodations to be not as nice as represented in the advertisement. Definitely not the case here. We found the views breathtaking and were pleasantly surprised at tboth the condition of the home (like new) and the tranquility of it's location. 04/09/08 The weekend was all too short, but we sure enjoyed your lovely home. It's hard to believe it's a rental because it looks barely lived in.
The small beach out back came in handy as a storm had washed alot of seaweed on the gulf side beaches.
We'll definitely be back for a full week next time of sunsets and maragaritas!
