Great stay! Clean and Comfortable!

To start with the owner was very quick to respond and easy to work with. When we arrived, the house was clean all was in good working order and exactly as described. It was an excellent size and layout for our family of 5. With 2 of our children being 3 & under it was easy to keep up with where they were and what they were doing. The beach was steps off the front of the house making for really easy access. We had such a great experience we are already talking about the next visit to this beach house!

Private, Relaxing and Fun!

First impressions are what folks remember the best. Our first impressions of On Golden Beach started with Paul, the owner, who is friendly, helpful, and is quick to respond if there is a problem. He helped us get the tv working the first night by getting us in contact with Direct TV techs who resolved the problem.......and all of this occurred after 10 pm! Our first impressions of the house were that it was clean, well maintained, the a c worked great, the hot water refreshing, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. The only suggestion we have is to add an easy chair to accompany the large, very comfortable couch in the tv area. There are ceiling fans in each room as well. We enjoyed sitting on the half covered porch, listening to the surf and watching the few scattered groups of people near the beach. It is a beach where cars are not allowed which added to the privacy we felt with this beachfront property. This is a house we will return to when we plan our next trip to the beach on Galveston island.

Paradise Found!

Our family absolutely LOVED our stay at Brooke Shores. This was our 3yr old's first trip to the beach, so we wanted a house that was truly "beach front". It doesn't get much more beach front than this...walk out of the door and you are literally steps away from the sand and water. Brooke Shores' decor really set the theme for a beach vacation. It is very welcoming and comfortable....just enough to get you in the mood but not over the top. We were a decent driving distance to the local WalMart to stock on our food items and we also found lots of GREAT restaurants within a short driving distance. We felt that the kitchen was well equipped....we just need to provide the food. The upper deck was huge and provided a great place to relax and watch the stars each night. Our only regret from our trip...we didn't book a longer stay.

We loved the beachfront view and location! The house comfortably accomodated four. The downstairs room is a bit more rustic than the main house, but we loved the privacy and outdoor patio; the sandunes and wildflowers added to the charm of the house. The owners were prompt and helpful. Overall we had a great stay and would consider renting this house again. Miriam Babun

This little beach house is perfect. Great location right on the beach with all the aminities of home. My husband and I and the kids had a wonderful time. It is family oriented and quite which was just what we were looking for. We will certainly try and rent this house for every trip to Galveston.

Relaxing

This house is located on a perfect little stretch of beach, has a great view and just couldn't be closer to the sand and waves. We loved hearing the ocean from inside the house. The arrangements were easily made and overall we had a great stay. The house itself could use a little maintenance/upkeep but we would definitely stay here again.

Beach front relaxation

This modest, older house has two bedrooms upstairs, one down. Nothing fancy but an easy place to stay and enjoy the ocean. It is run by a very good person who is easy to work with in all aspects of rental. The deck is part covered and mainly open to the sun. All the appliances work well, the kitchen is well stocked and there are ample linens. Some of the double pane windows are fogged so that beach view is impaired from inside. It is first row next to the beach and has a good natural dune with lots of birds around. The neighborhood is fine; no motels or condo developments nearby, just single family homes.

After staying a few miles north at a condo last year we decided we wanted a bit more room for ourselves and two kids this year. It would be hard to find a better deal than this one. Fantastic location if you enjoy relaxing away from the busy areas and public access spots on the beach. Absolutely Perfect for kids. Outstanding view. Just an overall great stay in every way. We'll be back for sure.

This was the first time we have rented a beach house, although we make a trip to Galveston every year...we have 2 younger boys and it was a wonderful family vacation. Being right on the beach in a private, stress-free setting was great! The enclosed outdoor shower made trips from the beach so easy with the boys. Perfect little spot.

This was our second year to stay at On Golden Beach. We brought both of our adult children this year and the lay out is ideal. We really like the quiet community and it is near enough to Galveston for all the shopping trips. The beach is quiet also.My favorite spot is the porch, for reading,sunning or just relaxing. Love the open floor plan too. Bright and cheerful. Thanks, Paul, for helping us have a great vacation.

Great Little House!

We had a dreamy stay at this great little house in a GREAT location! House is no frills but has everything you need (kids loved the fish shaped platters - served every meal from them - ha!) and some extra perks (Direct TV, floaties, awesome a/c in the main house). The neighborhood is plenty active (kids to play with) but very quiet - we dropped our tired boys in bed before sunset somenights and the street was super quiet. Can't beat the beach access and we loved the location to town/state park & moody gardens. We hope to stay here next summer too - it was a great time for our little family of four.

Our whole family had a great beach experience at this rustic and private beach house! Great ocean views and beach access! Seaweed and turtle patrols this time of year also! Our kids enjoyed the total beach vacation! We are planning on returning next year for an entire week! We are recommending this rental to our friends!!

Had a great time! Clean, comfortable, affordable, and quiet! Paul made the business side of booking painless, adding to the overall experience. I'd do business with this guy again! It was nice to unplug and defrag! Being right there on the beach was awesome! The back deck sealed the deal with a great view of the beach and the relaxing sound of the surf.

My husband and I needed a quiet weekend retreat to relax and unwind, this is the place to do it! Our adult children came with us and with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths we were all afforded our privacy and enjoyed relaxing. Whether we played on the beach or enjoyed the majestic sunset it was more than we could have expected!!! We are already checking the availability for another get away, it won't be soon enough!

We rented this home for a women's retreat and the open floor plan worked really well for that. It was located in a nice quite neighborhood and had great views of the gulf as well as direct access to the beach. Would definately recommend for families who want to be able to be close to the beach but don't want to deal with the crowds at public beaches. Also very reasonably priced for what you get!!

We just had a wonderful week at this property. The house is well-kept, comfortable and only about 30 yards from the water. The beach is nice, absolutely un-crowded and was exactly what I was hoping for for a relaxed week at a quiet beach.

We had a fantastic time at On Golden Beach. When we got there we noticed a problem with the A/C so we contacted the owner - it was resolved within 2 hours! The floor plan of the home was perfect for young kids since the stairs were outside - no babygate needed! And to be steps away from such a quiet beach was just perfect. We were able to set up our tent in the morning, go back to the house for lunch and leave the tent up with no worries. My son told me he wanted to stay there for "the next 100 years". I think he has the right idea!

What a relaxing getaway. The first evening there I sent a text to a coworker and said sell all of my work stuff I am not coming back! It was so relaxing. The beach was right out our door and it was not crowded at all. To wake up and hear and see the waves right there was wonderful. The owner was right, I will never again stay in a hotel when i can get a house like this!
