Description of the Galveston vacation home rental

This charming and beautiful three story beach home is located in the Village of Jamaica Beach between the beach and bay. The home is painted in very bright and beachy colors with lots of windows and natural light.The ceiling is vaulted and reaches about 30'at the highest point. It has a spacious back deck with hot tub, table,chairs and barbeque pit. Below is a flagstone breezeway overlooking a a big yard with a garden. This area is always cool with a great breeze even in August. There is also a bay view for awesome sunsets and beach view on third floor bedroom balcony. We are dog friendy so we have a fenced area for Rover.

Area Information

A big playground with a basketball court is walking distance from the house. A public boat ramp is in the subdivision. Valero convenience store is in walking distance and just a short distance away is Seven Seas (a fully stocked grocery store). Seven Seas is well known for it's great cuts of meat. They carry everything from food and bait to flip flops and hats. Nates restaurant is a few minutes away and is a favorite with the locals. It has everything from seafood to chicken fried steak and hamburgers, Also Waterman's Restaurant is about 4 miles away for fine dining and outside seating over the bay.

Was everything Janet said it would be. Janet met us on arrival and made sure we knew all about the house. Loved the decor. You do get a great breeze from the patio below. Beach access not too far. Safe area and nice neighbors. Will call again next year.

My family and I just spent the weekend in Galveston and had a wonderful time. This home on Jamaica Beach exceeded our expectations in every way. It was large, clean, well-equipped, and not far from the water. After spending the day on the almost secluded beach, we cooked on the gas grill on the deck. We had everything that we needed for a relaxed and fun vacation. We will go again, but next time we'll stay longer at this lovely home.

We were desperate to get out of the heat of Central Texas. Little did we know that we had rented a vacation house as comfortable as our own home. It was clean and plenty big with several places to "hang out" while the cook did her thing. Really close to the beach. The air conditioner worked great. Plus, we could just let the dog out in the dog run or the totally fenced yard. There was plenty of shade for him. We are definitely going to rent this place again.... may not tell all our friends about this gem. Oh, the owner was very nice, very funny and very fair.

Wonderful Weekend!

Our weekend to Galveston was a last minute mini-vacation and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! Moby Dick was perfect and nicer than I expected, being a last minute get-away. The yard is beautiful, the dog run was perfect for our son's dog, and the deck was a nice ending to our days. Everything we needed was already in the house and it made our trip easier than we anticipated. I spoke to Janet, one of the owners, prior to our trip, as well as after, and she was extremely helpful and very nice. This is definitely one house we will tell all of our friends about.

Fabulous beach house for our family vacation! Enjoyed all the amenities, as well as, the opportunity to bring our dog Tuffy. The dog area, breezeway below, the upper deck and being close to the beach were wonderful. We felt right at home. Will definitely refer our family and friends for their next vacation in Galveston.
