Great Location and Nice Accommodations
July 23, 2014
The Seahorse Landing is a great place to stay if you are looking for a nice weekend to unwind and get away from the hustle of the city! It has everything you need and the owners are very nice and very responsive to any questions and/or comments you may have. I would recommend the Seahorse! Only suggestion I would have for potential renters is to bring your own pillows. They have very nice pillows, however they are King size and I am just not use to that so it was a little bit awkward for me. But that's not a knock on the establishment, just a personal preference.
Perfect Get Away
September 23, 2013
Great beach get away. I love the waves and water so it was perfect. Spent a lot of time at the private beach sunning, surfing and enjoying. Did go into town one day for the tree sculpture tour and enjoyed looking at all the old houses. Got fresh shrimp at Pier 19 and enjoyed eating and bbq'ing at the house. John and Mark are very organized and could answer every question I had about where to go or what to do. The house is comfortable and was clean and ready when we arrived. All in all a relaxing vacation - plan to make it back again!

Another great vacation at Seahorse Landing! Our family has rented various houses along the coast and out of state, but the home of John & Mark is an exceptional vacation rental. Their attention to details of necessities, abundance of provided linens & towels, and working updated appliances makes this our top choice. And, it is SUPER clean! Their home is very comfortable and welcoming to our three children. When asked where they want to stay at the beach, Seahorse Landing is their top choice. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood close to the beach and fishing peer - perfect for a relaxing coastal vacation! Thanks again for another wonderful stay!

Great Family Vacation

The perfect spot for a family of 4 and 2 great grandparents. Easy to get to the almost secluded beach access! The house was our retreat. Great place to stay!

We had a great week at Seahorse Landing.Everything was as promised. We did purchase a beach canopy since the temperatures were so hot. It worked great and we left it in the downstairs storage for future guests to enjoy. Thanks guys!

very nice, super clean and well maintained house. When we arrived we found everything exactly as described in a quiet neighborhood with nice views of the ocean and the bay. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and everything was provided just bring your clothes food and drinks and sit back and relax or head to one of the many things to do in the area.I definately would return if I ever needed a plce to stay in the Galveston area in the future.
A Perfect Peaceful Getaway!
January 25, 2012
We decided at the last minute to drive down to Galveston for a getaway weekend with our dog. In looking at houses online we saw lots of negative comments about bugs, dirt and other undesirable elements. As we had never been to Galveston, we were a little apprehensive HOWEVER, realized we had nothing to worry about and everything to be excited about when we arrived at Seahorse Landing. The distance to the beach is very accurately described and it really only took a few minutes to walk there. And the sound of the waves through our open windows was a delightful way to fall asleep. And also a glass of wine on the front porch as the sun set was another highlight. Rooms are nicely sized and very nicely furnished. As we rent houses fairly often we had brought a lot of things with us "just in case". I'm fairly certain we took 99% of them home with us as the house had everything we could possibly want. We cooked several meals and the kitchen was as well equipped as any house we had ever rented. It was extremely clean and well laid out. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dog and the Weber grill was perfect as well. John and Mark were incredibly responsive via email and phone and always answered within minutes or at most an hour which is so nice when many rental owners take days to respond. The instructions for arrival and departure were perfect and easy to understand and the price was indeed way better than other houses we looked at. We will be happy to return, hopefully soon!! Just an awesome time! Thanks to John and Mark!
We're glad you enjoyed your stay and found the house so comfortable. As always, we try to provide some of the little "extras" that people tend to forget when they come to the beach. And we're glad you appreciated our timeliness -- we've always been frustrated with long delays from owners when we've rented in the past -- so we try to be as expedient as possible!

We were looking for a quaint and quiet 3 day Galveston getaway with easy access to the beach... and we found it. The rooms at Seahorse Landing were generously sized, well furnished, nicely decorated and very clean. Only a couple of blocks from the beach we could hear the surf and had partial views of the waves on one side of the island and the bay on the other. Other reviews said the owners "thought of everything", this turned out to be an understatement. A plethora of towels, linens, cooking utensils, tableware, movies, magazines, books, outdoor furniture and even a BBQ grill proved this was no ordinary rental property... this was a true beach home! We could not be happier with our stay and thank John and Mark for sharing their home with us.

Seahorse Landing was Fantastic!
February 9, 2011
The house was awesome; all the conviences of home and extremely clean. The owners thought of everything to make the guest comfortable. The decorating is very 'beachy'; loved it. I liked the patio under the house and I liked the fact that the houses weren't crammed together. There was space between you and your neighbor. I usually stay right on the beach but didn't mind the short walk at all. The walk was so short, I made several trips a day. I was surprised at all the shells that I found.

We enjoyed the cabin so much and each time I spoke with either John or Mark, you both were very delightful!!! The cabin had everything we needed...it was beautiful. We were there for a week long scrapbooking retreat and it served our purpose well. It was so comfortable...clean and had anything we could ask for!! We had a few bottles of wine and had a little trouble with the wine opener, but other than that...Absolutely wonderful!!
Owner Response - Jul 6, 2011
We're glad you had a great retreat! Sorry you had issues with the wine opener -- it's already been replaced with a much better one. We hope you'll be back soon to try it out!
Guest Review from McDFamily, Fort Worth TX - Jul 18, 2011
We had a great time at this house near the beach in Galveston. It was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main Seawall drag, but close enough for the times we wanted to venture in. The house was in excellent condition and had plenty of room for myself, my wife, and 4 boys. It was stocked with everything we needed for the 4 days we were there. We made extensive use of the grill, the hammock, and all the outdoor chairs. We were given a couple boogie boards by some strangers our first day on the beach, we decided to pay it forward and leave them there to go with all the rest of the cool stuff at the house. Hopefully others enjoy them and this house as much as we did. Thanks John and Mark, we had a blast! McD Family

Awesome! We were going to buy a boogie board to add to the collection...now we don't have to. Thanks so much....we're glad you had a fun stay!
Guest Review from Brittney, Columbus, OH - Jun 23, 2011
They thought of everything to make your stay a home away from home. The sleeping arrangments were more than enough for all of us, we had my boyfriend, 2 children, his mom and I. Out of all the places we have stayed over the years on vacation, we really hated to leave this home. I will absolutely be back to this house!!
Owner Response - Jun 24, 2011
We're thrilled that you felt comfortable in our home and found it relaxing. Sorry you had to leave, but it's great to hear you'll be back!
Guest Review from Rebecca, League City TX - Jun 21, 2011
This was our first time taking a vacation as a family. My daughter is almost 2, so we thought we would take a small trip not too far away. We found this listing on the internet, and loved how nice it was kept. We also loved the price - for 3 days, taxes and cleaning fee included was cheaper than 2 nights without the taxes and cleaning at most other places. It didn't bother us that it was not right on the beach, because we could drive all of our gear right on to the beach. With a little one, you tend to have a lot more stuff. The house was very clean and super cute! These guys thought of everything! We especially enjoyed sitting on the bottom porch, feeling the nice breeze at night and watching the kids play around the yard. Best 1st vacation for our family, and we will be back!!
Owner Response - Jun 22, 2011
We're so glad you enjoyed your visit to Galveston. We do try to keep our rates affordable for smaller families on a budget. And by managing the property ourselves, we can avoid all the "add-on" fees that most vacation rental agencies charge. Again, we're glad you had fun, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
Guest Review from Displaced Beachcombers, Austin, TX - Mar 22, 2011
When we searched for a place to "hide-out" by the beach, away from party-crazy Spring Breakers in Galveston, it seemed impossible. However, when we found Seahorse Landing, our prayers were answered. Two spacious bedrooms, full kitchen, an open floor plan, long deck with constant sea breeze located way down the island past Jamaica Beach where more islanders live than rent. Tasteful furnishings and updated amenities provided a lovely setting for a much needed restful visit with extended family. Once we had groceries, there was no reason to leave...except to walk to the beach, of course. Loved watching the sunset on the bay from the deck. Ahhh...
Owner Response - Apr 5, 2011
We're glad you had an enjoyable mini-vacation. We love that the Bay Harbor neighborhood is quieter than most, even if it is a little further from the city. Most of the year, it's like having your own private beach, far away from the crowds!
Guest Review from Starwanderer2001, Houston, TX - Mar 19, 2011

Very Very Very comfortable inside decor-nicely accessorized to the T! Kitchen was well stocked for preparation of any meal! Umbrellas for your drink on the bar-Nice Touch! Owner Response - Mar 20, 2011
We're glad you had a great time, and that you were comfortable in our home. While we can't change the distance to the water, we do everything we can to provide the best experience possible. Hopefully the little things made up for being 300 yards from the beach!

About:We recently purchased this property as our second home. We frequently enjoy long weekends in Galveston, exploring the many festivals and activities that the city offers (did someone say "Mardi Gras"?), or just lounging on the beach for some much- needed R&R.
We hope you enjoy the property as much...
