Description of the Garden City vacation home rental
A large living and dining combo, roomy kitchen, and two bedrooms on first floor with three bedrooms on the second, offers room to accommodate many but yet privacy when needed. The first floor has 1 king w/ master bath, 2 twins and a sleeper sofa with hallway 1/2 bath. The second floor features 2 queens with 1/2 bath, 2 twins and 2 queens with full bath off hallway. There is an awesome view from the second floor rooms. The home features a bright and cheery interior with a tropical flare.
Area Information
The Pier at Garden City is one of the most renowned attractions in Garden City, SC. “The Best of the Beach Visitors’ Poll of the Grand Strand conducted by The Sun News, voted the Pier at Garden City as the “Best Pier” in 2006 - 2010. The pier is located eight miles south of Myrtle Beach in the heart of Garden City Beach on 110 S. Waccamaw Drive. It is approximately 668 ft. long with a rain shelter at the end of the pier which includes a bar, nightly live music, and dancing during the summer months. There is no charge to walk on the pier, however, you must be 21 or accompanied by an adult to walk to the end of the pier when the bar is open. Other activities you can enjoy on the pier: the tackle shop, fishing, the arcade, and the Pier Café’ which hosts breakfast, lunch, dinner and karaoke and live music during certain hours in the summer months.
Garden City is also home to the original Sam’s Corner, a 24-hour restaurant that is famous for its hot dogs and casual diner atmosphere. Sam’s is located across the street from the Pier at Garden City on Atlantic Avenue. This restaurant has two additional locations in Myrtle Beach and Pawley’s Island. Other noteworthy attractions in Garden City: Sara J’s, a seafood restaurant overlooking the marsh was ranked one of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach, Conch Café, and oceanfront restaurant, the Yum Yum Shop, an ice cream parlor, the Garden City Pavilion Arcade, the Village Surf Shoppe, home of Perfection Surfboards since 1968 and Maze Mania, a fence maze that changes its patterns daily.

Just got back from a wonderful week at this house! It's right next to the beach, which is awesome, probably a 15 second walk and you've got sand in your toes! The beach is very nice, soft sand, not too great for surfing, although there were a few days we paddled out and caught a few waves! The house is very beachy and quaint, and there's an extra half bathroom that wasn't listed here! We had 16 people at the house and every person had a blast! I HIGHTLY recommend using this house, as well as Mud Monkeys! Regarding the town: Garden city is honestly an amazing little city. Inside the beachiest area, it is very small and friendly. There's a few local shops, ice cream parlors, even an arcade. However, drive about a minute out of town, and there's everything you could ever need. There's about 4 grocery stores within a mile of each other, including a pretty upscale walmart, fast food restaurants, put put golf, and Myrtle's strip is only 20 minutes away or so, if that kind of thing interests you (not a fan, personally). My sister and I took our kids and had a wonderful time for spring break. The house was perfect for us and the location was great. It is located directly across the street from the beach and only 5 blocks from Garden City Pier. We would highly recommend this house for a large family with teenagers or smaller children.
We have stayed at Mudd Monkeys on several occasions, both during the Summer and Fall seasons. We absolutely love the house and the location. We have had some of the best times here, Bike Ralley's, Family Times and just some ladies doing some singing and shopping!! I recommend the house to anyone looking for lots of room, comfortable beds and furnishings and a great view and location!! Darlene G.
This is one fantastic beach house!!! It fit our every need. There was plenty of room to accommodate everyone. We had 13 people in all and everyone had their own space. Very clean with all conveniences. We especially enjoyed the spacious deck. The beach access was just across the street and very convenient. We have just returned from a wonderful family vacation spent at your Mud Monkeys rental unit. We just wanted to let you know how much we sincerely enjoying staying in your home. Our three sons aged 15, 19 and 22 were with us as well as one of their girlfriends and our family dog, Otis (miniature schnauzer). My husband and sons are all very tall people - 6'3' + and your home fit us all so perfectly. It was so spacious and with the screened in porch and gated deck, our dog was able to enjoy the outside safely. We had brought his run with us but the ones you provided in the backyard were an added bonus. We appreciate all the features of the home that made our stay at the beach so relaxing. Again we apologize for not replacing the kitchen light bulb that blew but it blew late Friday night and we left Garden City at 5 am on Saturday morning so did not get the opportunity to replace it.
