Description of the Gasquet vacation home rental

This is a private vacation home on one acre of land and 150ft of private river frontage. Our home is 16 miles from Crescent City in the small, pop 400, town of Gasquet. During the summer we are known as Sunny Gasquet as we rarely get any of the cool coastal fog. Although our property is privately owned we are located in the middle of the Smith River National Recreation Area, there are no houses across the river from us. Only 8 miles to the west is Redwood National and State Parks where some of the tallest trees reside. Twenty miles west is the Pacific Ocean and the southern entrance to the Oregon Coast. Fifty miles north east are the Oregon Caves National Monument.

FISHING GUIDE!!! The owner operates Smith River Guide Service. Salmon in November and Steelhead from December thru March. Even if you do not stay here you can inquire here for fishing trips.

The Smith River is the only major undamed river in California and is said to be the cleanest and clearest river in the US. During winter months we have record size salmon and steelhead returning to spawn.
