Description of the Georgetown vacation cottage rental

Situated on the southern end of MacMahan Island, our turn-of-the-century Maine cottage has breathtaking views. It is a unique island, where one walks or uses a golf cart to get around the island. Automobiles are left on the mainland. The wrap-around porch, provides a spectacular vista of the Sheepscot River, Hendricks Head Lighthouse, and picturesque Five Islands. Large kitchen with 2 microwaves, dishwasher, electric and wood stoves, china, silverware and cookware enough for a full house; washer/dryer adjacent to kitchen; huge dining room and living room each with large fireplaces. Ferry service and a golf cart are available.

Area Information

Nearby on the mainland is Robinhood Marina with its famous Osprey Restaurant. Bath is a 30 minute drive for shopping or seeing the fabulous Maine Maritime Museum. Reid State Park is a 20 minute drive. Right on the island, lobsters are delivered to the dock with only a few hours notice. Two clay tennis courts and wonderful hiking trails are here, as well as a Post Office, and a beautiful Episcopal chapel. Wake up to seeing lobstermen hauling their traps.
