This home of an internationally renowned portrait and landscape artist comes with the beach just below the deck which is no further than 50 to 150 feet depending on the tide. You can fish for strippers and an occasional bluefish from the rocks just below the turf line. The owner collectively owns a smooth,sandy private beach with the other association members (there are 5 on this private island peninsula). Little River, below, flows in from 2 miles upstream from a fresh water estuary and is warmed by the time it is adjacent to the house. Everyone loves to float downsteam on tubes on the current. There is clamming possibilities further up in the tidal flats. No license necessary on the state park side of the river. There is a clay tennis court about 500 feet from the house where you can play for a nominal extra fee.

Indian Point is one of 5-6 Georgetown Island communities. It is a summer enclave of, among others, educators, artists, writers and other interesting people. It is worth taking the 2 mile daily walk, or bike, around the Loop Road and meeting folks.
There are places to put boats in and to moor at guest moorings. There are 5 private beaches owned by association members but can be used by guests and renters. In the fishing community of Five Islands, there are lobster and clams served on the dock There are a couple of 3 and 4 star restaurants in Georgetown as well as 2 supermarkets and another 8 or so restaurants in Bath which is 20 minutes away as well as the famed Maine Maritime Museum in Bath..
The Portland Jetport is only 55 minutes away. There are also numerous museums and historical buildings in Portland. Portland was once noted as having the most restaurants, per capita, outside of New York City or San Francisco.
Many "birders" love the various wetlands and marshs at Indian Point.
Georgetown is located in the Southern part of Maine's midcoast. L.L.Bean in Freeport is only a half hour's drive south of Georgetown
Bar Harbor, Cadillac mtn.and the famous Mount Desert Island is up the coast a couple of hours or so.
