Description of the Georgetown vacation home rental
Breathtaking, bold 270 degree views from every window and the deck.!

The owner collectively owns a smooth, sandy private beach with the other association members (there are 5 on this private island peninsula). There is clamming possibilities further up in the tidal flats. No license necessary on the state park side of the river. There is a clay tennis court about 500 feet from the house where you can play for a nominal extra fee.

wondeful spot

This home and its location is wonderful.. The sound of ocean at night, the views to open water from the deck and inside the house make this a relaxing ,peaceful experience. House is accessible, well furnished and full of art painted by the owner's father. We have been here more than once and would return again.

Owner's reply:

This review is similar to many, many other ones we have received over the years due to it's extremely dramatic position of the house in relation to the views of the open Atlantic and the beaches, from every window.

Superbe House

We absolutely loved our week in Water's Edge house.. It was a dream. The house is beautifully decorated, very tasteful, with amazing material quality to it.. it was very spacious for just the two of us, we felt very lucky to get to spend the week there. We enjoyed the fireplaces often, the one it the bedroom is such a nice touch. The access to the waterfront was awesome, our dog and us just loved taking walks and exploring around. We really loved the Rockland village center. We loved Rockport too, and Owl's Head General Store (and it's famous burgers!). The Birch Point beach is also a must to check out!! Every thing felt very near by.. easy to reach. It was a very relaxing week and we strongly recommend this area, and this house. We loved the tranquility of the off season, it suits us better. We made wonderful memories and will cherish for a long time. Paule & Guillaume

Owner's reply:

The renter stayed at a property in the Rockland area and not at our property.

Owner Supplied Testimonials
Guestbook

Virtually everyone who stays at this house is overwhelmed by the dramatic views and the easy access to the beach. I believe that the renters from Canada may have been thinking about another place up near Rockland and not our place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the watercolors that you put in with the property photos?
A: They are scenes here at Indian Point done by my father, an internationally known artist who lived here before us. His art studio is next door when he painted these watercolors and live portraits of the rich and famous, including several Maine governors over the years and one live sitting by JFK the year before he was slain in 1963!. That portrait is currently hanging in the Harvard Club in Boston. He was a member of A.W.S. (American Watercolor Association) and Who's Who in American Art (several editions).
Q: How far to the nearest 3 star restaurant?
A: The Osprey Restaurant in Georgetown about 7 miles back towards Bath. Bath also has several other restaurants equally as good. The next town is Brunswick, home to Bowdoin College, which has a multitude of diverse places to eat.
