Awesome Family Ski Vacation

March 5, 2015

the house was awesome for me and my family. We plan a ski trip every year and this year chose Ski Liberty. The house was spacious and clean. The fireplace was perfect have to really turn the vent to make sure the flu is open - don't give up well worth it. Kitchen fully stocked and it was clean and presentable. Bedrooms suited though if you have couples really only two rooms work. THe other has two twin which was put together and the other has bunk beds. We brought a blow up mattress that we used in the 2nd living that was perfect because we didn't really use that room. My little 2 1/2 yr old grand daughter and 8 yr grandson loved the kids room! We even got to sled. The deer that came every day was an added bonus.

Perfect little Getaway

January 12, 2015

Rented this house for the new year with a few friends. It was the perfect quiet getaway for all of us. Beautiful house and grounds, a very peaceful place. It was perfect for reconnecting with friends! The sleeping accommodations were great, the kitchen was fully stocked for all our cooking needs, so we hardly had to leave the house unless we wanted to. Only 15 minutes from town it was the perfect location. I would recommend this place to anyone! I am sure we will be coming back again!

Thanksgiving in Gettysburg

January 4, 2015

Great stay over the Thanksgiving holiday ! The owner, Janne was very responsive and the house was truly unique. There was no wifi and the tv was a little small but all in all the house was well equipped and had everything we needed. The property views were spectacular with deer visiting daily. The property was also very close to the drving tour and monuments.

Owner's reply:

Thank you so much for your kind reviews. We are very happy that you and extended family (including your Corgi) were so happy in our house. We love this house because you can get away from it all here so you are right to note that we don't have much technology -- just solitude and nature. Please come back!

Peaceful Get-A-Way

April 30, 2014

Lovely Amish built house surrounded by beautiful scenery. Our children loved the turtles in the pond and ducks. They enjoyed trying their hand at fishing in the stream and exploring the grounds. We utilized the fully stocked kitchen (including spices and various baking essentials) for all our meals - sometimes eating outside when weather permitted. The house is a quick 10 minute drive to historic Gettysburg and the National Military park where we spent two days awed and immursed in our country's history. There are many ways to explore the park - bike, walking, self guided car tour, horseback tour. It is an hour drive from DC which was an easy commute with young children. It is also an hour and a half away from Hershey PA. We made use of one of two wood stoves in the living room which added the perfect ambiance to our evenings. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful house and gorgeous grounds in a peaceful rural setting but within close reach of local tourist sights (Gettysburg battlefield, Eisenhower farm, the historic town of Gettysburg) and just an hour from Baltimore/Washington. We cooked at home and ate by the pond listening to the owls and frogs - beautiful - but also tried some great local restaurants. A great relaxing vacation.

Recommended - we had a great time!

December 7, 2006

We had a great time at the property and recommend it for those looking for a quiet relaxing weekend. It is very serene. We sat by the small lake watching hawks, bluebirds and other wildlife. Very convenient to D.C. (less than an hour from Rockville without traffic) yet seemingly very far away. Cannot see any of the neighbors and lots of land to explore around the property. Washer and dryer were helpful. Lots of kitchen supplies. Heating worked very well despite being a large house with many many windows. Had a great time and hope to go back soon.
