There are summer art gallaries, live stage theater, summer restaurants; every Thursday evening in the season the Rocky Neck association host free events on the "Neck". Just a few minutes drive will take you to whale watch, harbor tours, schooner sails, museums, free bandstand concerts, etc. Gloucester is a well established tourist destination and has many summer activities and festivals.

2 adults and 2 kids, we had a great time, the apartment was really clean and the location is great. We had a beautiful day at good harbour beach just a few minutes away and the train station in town was great to go to Boston.

The apartment was very clean, but simple. It appears to be very old, considering the thick wood planks for the floors (very nice), the doors and woodwork. The only minus I would say would be that the living room floor slopes (pretty dramatically), but I guess that is due to the age of the house. It really didn't bother us, and was something we just laughed about. The view cannot be beat. The cove is very nice, quiet and relaxing. We saw many boats, including a Navy boat on the weekend, kayaks and sailboats that floated by in the distance. The water was cold, but we expected that, and it didn't stop my husband from taking a dip (I could only manage to wade up to my ankles). The house is within walking distance of many restaurants and art galleries in Rocky Neck, and within driving distance of many other sights to enjoy in Gloucester and surrounding towns. The highlight was the whale watching trip, where we saw finback and humpback whales. Awesome! The landlord was very accommodating and kind. We appreciated her hospitality. Great vacation!

Really nice place with a view of the water. Great proximity to artists. A drive to Gloucester tourist area but we didn't mind--parking is easy. Very nice apartment. Internet really worked. Lots of nice little towns and such nearby. Good area for running, biking, etc. Too cold to swim in June.
