Description of the Gore Mountain vacation home rental

Minutes from Speculator, Gore Mountain & Schroon Lake, 1/2 hour to Lake George, and 40 minutes from Saratoga!! Lots of custom woodwork - you'll love it! !! 6 bdrms (5 bedrooms have 2 queen or full beds in each & 1 twin bed in an alcove on 3rd floor),3 full baths (2 with showers and 1 with tub/shower, formal dining room, living room & 2 family rooms. Main deck on 2nd level and smaller deck on 3rd floor level. Large custom kitchen w/ granite countertops, tile floors, and stainless steel appliances. Cherry walls on middle floor, post beam construction, oak floors and ceramic tile throughout. Top floor has 10' ceilings. The property consists of 5.5 acres with a running stream near the house. Hunt or go fishing. Or ski Gore Mountain, which is less than 5 miles away. Brand new hot tub (June 2013) for after those long days of skiing or hiking!!
**Rental rates apply to 7 to 10 occupants. Larger groups - additional fees apply.
**Pets will be considered upon owner's approval and additional fee.

Area Information

Located at 2,700 Ft. Elevation in the Heart of the Adirondack. The property has a running brook next to it and great Mountain views. You are in the middle of the woods. Less than 5 miles to Gore Mountain, 1/2 hour to lake George, 45 mintues to Saratoga. About eight great restuarants in the near area. Great winter get away! North Creek is the local Town. Near Route 8 & 28.

It's called the Dancing Bear for a reason...!!

Because the entertainment is NON STOP!!! A group of 15 of us went up to celebrate my brother's 24th birthday. Even with such a large group, there was PLENTY of space. The house was in great condition, equipped with washer dryer, dishwasher, grill, bed sheets and 3 full bathrooms. The only thing we didn't have was toilet paper - so word to the wise, bring some with you! It's about a half hour from downtown Lake George where there are a large variety of places to eat and play. We went the weekend after Labor Day - which turned out to be "car show weekend" - VERY crowded. So if you are visiting the area, you might want to look into that ahead of time. There are also several places that close after the summer has ended, so be aware of that too. We did not do enough research and as a result, ended up NOT going white water rafting (which was one of the main reasons we went...total bummer). But the Dancing Bear is in a great location. Quiet street and plenty of parking. There is tons of things to keep you entertained (fire pit, board games, X-box, etc - and we made use of ALL of those!) And the relator (Debbie) was extremely helpful and kind throughout the booking process. I would DEFINITELY go back again :)

We enjoyed our stay at Dancing Bear very much. Mr. Hunter was wonderful and always most helpful! The house was great and the neighbor was most helpful also.
