Description of the Gouldsboro vacation cabin rental

The perfect fishing spot and great for your family get-away, this cozy cabin has everything you'll need. It's tucked away on the shore of Jones Pond and in the heart of Downeast Maine, just minutes from the Schoodic Point section of Acadia National Park.

The cabin is well supplied with full-sized fridge, stove, oven, & microwave, gas grill, dishes & utensils, linens, washer/dryer, satellite tv, ipod dock, dvd player, surround sound, and central heating. There is cell coverage and 3G networking.

Enjoy a relaxing evening around the firepit (plenty of firewood is provided) and admire the sunset over the pond.

Jones Pond is stocked with brown trout, smallmouth bass, white & yellow perch and chain pickerel. There's a public landing, playground and park just around the bend, too - either by land or by boat.

Your pup is a member of the family and certainly welcome to come along!

Area Information

Schoodic Point is part of Acadia National Park and only about 5 miles from Jones Pond. The shoreline consists of exposed and weathered red granite that varies from 10 to 100 feet in width from ocean to the beginning of plants and forest. Several islands of various sizes are nearby including Little Moose Island, Schoodic Island, Pond Island, and Rolling Island.

The Point is one of the best places for kite flying! There's always a breeze and spectacular surf crashing against the rocks. It is also one of the best places to view diabase dikes -large veins of dark basalt that have forced their way through the older granite along the shore.

Jones Pond Fishing:
Extended Season - Remains open to fishing through October.
From October 1 - October 31: Artificial lures only; All fish caught must be released alive at once. There is no bag limit on pickerel. Refer to State's general fishing law for specifics.
