Description of the Grand Rapids vacation cottage rental
A Slice of Heaven is conveniently located aprroximately 8 miles off of the 131 North 10 Mile/Rockford Exit. Passing thru you will find the quaint & fun downtown Rockford. A great place to spend the day shopping in their delightful speciality boutique's or enjoy romantic fine dining at the beautiful Reds on the River, overlooking the the Rogue River, in downtown Rockford. Also, you will find various other hot spots to dine in downtown including The Corner Bar ~ known for their award winning chili dogs, as well as Vitale's Pizza and Sam's Joint. Rockford is a lovely place to visit with a charmingly small "home town" feel.
The cottage is located 5 miles North of Cannonsburg Ski Area for those of you that like to ski (downhill or cross-country, snowboard or tube!)
Or slide down our back hill with the little one's, go figure skating on the lake, or bring your pole, and go ice fishing for some yummy pan fish! We also have a fire pit for your use.
Back at the cottage enjoy your beverage, over looking the lake, bonding with the family over a fun game of Monopoly or game of your choice! We have various board games to choose from, toddler toys, movies to watch, and playing cards.
For the summer months, enjoy the spacious deck over-looking your private beach front. No need to pack beach chairs or beach toys ~ we provide it all! We have a paddel boat and 2 kayak's available for your use too! We try our best to accomodate you, so you have a stress-free, fuss-free stay.
Our cottage was completely remodeled in the summer of 2010. You will be pleased to find new paint, carpet, stainless steel appliances, drywall, etc. This is one cottage that you won't (hopefullY!!) find dust bunnies or spiders!! You will be pleased to find a wonderful fully stocked kitchen as well.
We also have just completed our lower level (summer of 2012). You will be pleased to find a second bathroom, third bedroom, and a nice new rec room with sliders to the back yard. A big bonus for our little cottage :))

Area Information
Another point of interest would be Fredrerick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, located approximately 15 mintues from the cottage. Bring your camera, because you are in for some magnificent sights here!
Downtown Grand Rapids is also 15 mintues away and offers dazzling nightlife, brewery's, clubs, restaurant's Ruth Chris Steakhouse (5-Star), The Chop House, Leo's (phenomenal seafood), as well as many ethenic cusines to chose from.

I rented this property for a bridal shower brunch that I threw for my friend and it was absolutely perfect! The house was beautiful and Lesa was incredibly helpful and sweet!! The kitchen was stocked with every cooking gadget imaginable and the bedrooms were huge with comfortable beds. I can't stress again how beautiful and charming everything was. The bride was so happy with everything. I would recommend this property to everyone wanting a beautiful house for a getaway. Thanks Lesa!!

This small home is artistically decorated and very comfortable. It was great for the girlfriends weekend for five of us. Lamps for reading (all lights are overhead) and a dining table are all that is missing. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back for another get away.

This cottage was a perfect place for a recent trip to snowboard at Cannonsburg Ski Area. Lesa was helpful, before, during and after our stay. The place is immaculate, yet cozy. Stayed during the heart of winter but loved coming back from the slopes each day to this place of comfort and serenity. The furniture and beds were very comfortable, especially for my sore bones after a full day on the slopes. I highly recommend this place to anyone, anytime of year. Perfect location to everything you need, yet remote enough to feel like a vacation spot. Great stay. Great people. Thanks.

Girls Getaway

This was truly a memorable girls weekend, my girls friends and I travel quiet a bit and this quiet time away from the rush of daily life was made extra special by Lesa....she put no restrictions on us and allowed us to come early and stay late! My family traveled to Rockford for the Keech family reunion. The Keech family hails from the Myers family that the lake is named for. I loved the comfy house and my daughter loved playing with the toys. We were able to use the dock for our boat that we used to catch a few bass while out and about. I was catching blue gill after blue gill right off the dock! My boys loved paddling around iin the kayacks and my favorite thing was lounging on the deck taking in the view! Thank you for sharing your home with us and allowing us to have a fantastic vacation.

We had a fantastic time in the cottage. The location on the lake was fabulous as were the views from the living room and huge balcony. We had the delights of the autumn colours but missed the heat a little. We would love to come back in the warmer months so we could make use of the garden, beach, lake and canoes. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have children. Lesa had everything set up for our little one including a place to sleep, high chair and lots of toys. We didn't bring any of the bulky things we would normally have to bring for the little one :-) Thanks again Lesa for making our stay a thoroughly enjoyable one

Family Fun!!!!

Our Family had a wonderful time at the Rockford cottage. Even though the weather wasn't as warm as we hoped we were able to enjoy the lake and the little beach was perfect for the kids. It was great not having to worry about bringing all the kids toys, pack n' play, etc., since it was all already there. The cottage was the perfect weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Downtown Rockford had great shopping and dinning options as well. The entire family had an amazing time and we made some great family memories. We will absolutely be back again!!!!!

Fantastic Rental

My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary getaway and had a such a relaxing stay. My husband used one of the kayaks and went for a trip around the lake. I stayed in and enjoyed the lovely view and Lesa's flair for decorating. The house was wonderful, as was the host. Lesa makes you feel like you are visiting an old friend. Everything you could ask for (and more) has been thoughtfully provided. The property is easy to find and located in a lovely, quiet area. We visited Grand Rapids, Holland, Grand Haven and Muskegon from the house. Easy day trip. I am already planning a girls' getaway in a few weeks and can't wait to get back. This will definitely be a regular rental for us. Thank you, Lesa!

Exceeded expectations!

We had a wonderful family vacation on Little Myers Lake. The owners of this quaint newly rennovated and extremely clean cottage were very accommodating and helpful. The cottage has a beautiful view and Little Myers Lake is very serene and quiet. Our boys (8 and 13) enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boat, and fishing poles each day we were there. The cottage was fulyl stocked with everything we might have needed. We had dinners on the porch and enjoyed the great Michigan summer weather. I even jogged over to the farmer's stand nearby, picked up a bucket and continued my jog to pick blueberries and sunflowers! We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Very relaxing, yet active and full of fun.

What a perfect find on "Vacation Home Rentals". We just returned from spending a few days in this lovely Lakefront Winter Cottage and enjoyed every minute of it. Lisa is a very wondeful hostess who provided extra luxuries that we would never have expected. She went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable and content. The cottage itself was newly remodeled, clean, and inviting. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to get away to consider this cute cottage. We went in the winter months, and summer would be a real treat enjoying the lake. Thank you Lesa for offering us your place. We will spread the good word.

I went there with my wife and 2 months old daughter... I didn't believed that I would have much fun because it is winter already and its cold outside The first thing I notice the place was warm (I was worried about my daughter) , everything is in new condition and well decorated ... My wife loved the kitchen she even decided to have the exact one when we go back to home... the lake view is amazing ... the swans give additional pleasure .... The hospitality of the owener is something I highly appriciated ... I already recommend the place to my friends and If ihad a chance to go there again before leaving US ,I would do it

Perfect Getaway

Close to everything, and far enough away to make it a great escape. We enjoyed several nice campfires, fished off the dock and paddleboat. The house is very tastefully decorated and the main floor open kitchen and living room is well thought out. Nice personal touches without being fussy. Comfy funiture too! The deck is huge with fabulous views of the lake. We were there in late August so the evenings were pleasant enough to have the two lake facing sliding screen doors open. Made for wonderful sleeping....and even an afternoon nap. The lake activity was quiet overall with only a few folks out on the water. The home owner was wonderful to work with and went above and beyond to ensure we had a nice private setting with all the extras. Fabulous folks to work with. We truly enjoyed ourselves....it's the kind of place you can feel right at home at and we did.

We had a wonderful time at the lakeside cottage. The deck was perfect for sitting and chilling and enjoying the view of Little Lake Myers. We talked and laughed and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. The kitchen was very well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The couch was big enough to slepp on and since there were 5 of us one of us did. The town of Rockford has many cute little shops and Grand Rapids is 10-15 minutes away and we did some shopping and checked out some museums. The vacation house is very open and spacious, great set up for conversation and a nice bar to eat at, as well as a table out on the deck. Thank you Lesa, we had a loveley time! We will definately keep you in mind for our next girls weekend!! ~Kristi

Vacation home on Little Myers lake

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is comfortable and beautifully updated with a great deck to enjoy relaxing and BBQ with family. It was nice to have some air conditioning to seek refuge from the hot humid summer days. Lesa and Tom were very accommodating; esp since we booked at the last minute! The fireworks were amazing during the 4th of July weekend!

We had a great time at the vacation home on little meyers lake. The city of Rockford is beautiful and has so much to offer.
