Description of the Green Turtle Cay vacation townhouse rental

Located at the beautiful Bluff House Resort on Green Turtle Cay, the blue dolphin suite is a two story townhome located on the Sea of Abaco. You'll have waterfront views from both floors as you are nestled on a bluff a mere 20 yards from the waters edge. On site amenities at the resort are private white sandy beach, pool, full service restaurant and bar and a complete deep water marina. We have fantastic "on island" property management to help you get settled in when you arrive. They can also assist with golf cart rentals,boat rentals,dive trips and fishing charters. The blue dolphin suite has a kitchenette,dining and living area downstairs and queen bed and bath upstairs. Sit out on your porch and have breakfast each morning. Watch satellite TV at night downstairs after a full day playing in the sun. We have tried to give the blue dolphin suite a relaxed beachfront cottage feel but at an very affordable price. Come and get away from it all in our little slice of tropical paradise.

Area Description

Green Turtle Cay is located off the coast of Great Abaco in the Bahamas. Fly into Treasure Cay airport (TCB) to begin your adventure. Two major carriers and numerous small carriers have daily service into Treasure. Take a brief 5 minute cab ride to the ferry dock and then a 15 minute ferry boat ride to Green Turtle and the Bluff House Resort. The out islands of the Bahamas are very unique and pleasantly different from Nassau and Freeport. Very laid back and extremely friendly,we have virtually no crime and everyone is a neighbor. If there are more than 3 people on a particular beach within 200 yards,it's crowded! If you want beachside hair braiding and people everywhere trying to sell you something,you have come to the wrong place. Pristine reefs yards off the beach invite you to snorkel. Miles of white sandy beaches for shelling, laying out and exploring also beckon you. Ride into the historic town of New Plymouth for provisions and to try some of the local restaurants. Founded in the 1700's, there are shops,galleries and a small museum proudly displaying their heritage. Three grocery stores,two hardware stores and a few "everything" stores provide you with all you would need for your stay. Green Turtle also has several churches for worship on Sunday. For such a small place,it seems to have it all. Not to mention world class diving and bonefishing, you can either do it all or do nothing at all.

My sweetheart and I made the trip to the Abacos not quite knowing what to expect. Once we arrived, we understood why people visited here. The people of the island are extremely nice and hospitable and I felt welcome everywhere I went. We spent almost everyday snorkeling in the crystal clear blue waters or shell collecting on the picture postcard worthy beaches. Getting around town is easy with the gas powered golf carts (and a whole lot of fun) with the big knobby tires for traction. The 2 story condo we stayed in had all the creature comforts of home with TV, DVD, CD player, ice cold a/c and a blender for the perfect tropical smoothies. We ate breakfast and lunches there in the full kitchen and usually went out for dinner at one of the island’s restaurants. Waking up in the morning from the second story bedroom to the breathtaking view of the sea made me want to sell my house, quit my job, and move to the islands. While there, you have to visit Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar.

They say that a picture is worth 1000 words. This little gem has an awesome view of the bay and the way the island is laid out, a 10 minute golf cart ride away and you are in the middle of town, with small little restaurants, grocery stores a lots of friendly people. Back in the home, the bedroom is situated on the second floor, with bright windows overlooking the bay. The home was clean and well cared for and represented a little hideaway to get away from it all. Spend a couple of days or a week. All you need is available to you.
