Located next to Hartford's Point, miles of scenic horseback riding trails around the lake, on the ITS snowmobile trail and only 3 miles to downhill skiing at Squaw Mountain Resort. With great views and a relaxed setting backing up to the woods, golf course, and Moosehead Lake, this former barn was transformed into a country retreat with all new plumbing, electrical, heat systems and insulation, etc. A FUN vacation home featuring oversized rooms on 3 levels, centered around the Great Room, an entertainment, living room area with exposed beams and an expansive 18 foot high "barn tin" ceiling. The home has great style: including wide plank wood floors, oversized custom tile showers, a jacuzzi in the master bath suite, a fieldstone and slate fireplace, and radiant heat. The property has a 3 car garage for all your toys, and is surrounded with decks and walkways to the golf course and lake (with a beach and docks).

Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in New England. Explore its 550 miles of shoreline in a boat, kayak or snowmobile. Fish the lake year-round for salmon & lake trout or fly fish in the near by streams. Shuttle from Rockwood to Mt. Kineo, ride on the historic steamship Katahdin. Aerial tour in a float plane. Have fun on a moose safari, white water raft, water ski, swim, mountain bike, shop, snowmobile, cross country ski, downhill ski at nearby Big Squaw Mountain ski resort or spot deer and moose! Hiking trails range from easy to challenging. Golf courses include Mt. Kineo & Squaw Mountain. The Gulf Hagas (Grand Canyon of Maine) and Canada are both great day trips. Fall is exquisite, and in winter, with the lake frozen, snowmobiling is a great way to explore this winter paradise.

What a cool house! We loved it! Plenty of room for the kids, yet privacy for romance in the master suite (the entire 3rd floor!), with a jacuzzi for two overlooking the lake. Great location! Can't wait to come back for our summer vacation!
