This place was great. We were looking for a central spot to ski and go ice fishing, and this was in the middle of everything. Owners were great. Price was right. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful stay in the mountains
September 1, 2013
The chalet was a beautiful home for rest and enjoyment, and very close to a number of gorgeous hikes in the Bethel area. While this area is known for its skiing, it's a great location for the off-season to enjoy hiking, biking, or simply resting in the beautiful weather. I would recommend it with no hesitation!

Dan, We wanted a place in the mountains to get away from the busy life we have. It was beautiful, relaxing, and everything we needed. We walked, and enjoyed nature, went into the town of Bethel to shop, and eat. (I recommend Pat's Pizza) Bethel is a very quaint Maine town. Postcard material! The house had everything we needed. (We have rented a house at the beach, and had to provide dish soap etc. When you have to pack a ton of little things like that it is nice to have all of that provided) The only thing you need to bring is your food. Beds were comfortable, my husband has a bad back, so that is always a concern. Beautiful cool nights, extra blankets were right at our fingertips. (Can't find that at a hotel.) I am sure most people come to ski, but this is a great place in the summer as well. We will be back!

We stayed at the Chalet to visit family and relax for the week. It was a great place to stay, and had all the amenities you could want. The location was beautiful, and the Chalet is well taken care of. Dan & Joline treated us as kindly as family, and were great in communicating. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in the area. Don't miss out on a great place!
Summer Retreat in 2012

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was nice to be able to enjoy the beautiful Maine weather with the windows open. The cabin was well equipped, and the owners, Dan and Joline, were very pleasant and accommodating. Location was close to everything recreational we wanted to do.

We spent a wonderful summer week in the chalet. The house has everything you need and is situated in a quiet region off from traffic. Equally suited for a quiet getaway, studying or reading, or for active vacation. Canoeing, swimming, hiking the White Mountains (with too many trails to be crowded!), birdwatching - all is within easy reach. Provisions are just 15 min drive away in Bethel. Check out the restaurants and a truly great bakery Dicocoa's!

Home away from home

We really enjoyed our stay at the chalet! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing with fantastic proximity to Mt. Abram. From the iPod/iPhone hookup to the DVD player, VCR and Wifi, all types of entertainment and modern amenities were available, while still maintaining a true rustic feel. The hosts really thought of everything! I'm very much looking forward to my next visit, and many more to come. Thanks again!

It's become an annual event for our family to ski at Mt Abram and also visit Sunday River for their fall fest. The kids look forward to staying at "The Chalet" each year. We will return to keep up the yearly tradition and to produce some wonderful memories for our children.

We had a WONDERFUL time at the chalet! From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The proximity to the mountain, the snow conditions, the weather - what a great escape. We will definitely keep the chalet in mind for future visits to Western Maine. Thank you to our hosts!

We went up to the chalet to stay for the New Years Holiday. The house was great and had everything we needed! It was clean and comfortable and in a great location. There were four adults total and we had plenty of space. We will definitely be returning in the future! Thanks for a great time! Alexa

The chalet was super clean & had everything we needed & made our stay even nicer by having everything right at our fingetips. It was decorated so nice & made you feel right at home being there but most of all the owner so were so great to deal with & I could not have picked a better chalet or owners.

Clean, warm and friendly. Just what we were looking for. All the amenities of home and close to the slopes as well. Thanks so much!
Great time in Greenwood!!!
February 13, 2009
What an excellent time we had (2 adults & 3 kids 12, 14 & 16)...The accommodations were perfect, very warm and friendly like a home away from home. Very clean and orderly with everything we needed for a very comfortable vacation. Base of Mt Abram being a few hundred yards down the road was awesome. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to stay or more convenient to everything. Food store is right in Bethel and having the kitchen was great but there is also plenty of places to eat or order from. I’m from the Philly area and had one of the best cheese steaks ever from Breu’s Too (deli market about 10 minutes away). I would recommend this to anyone and certainly plan on returning.

We didn't want to leave!
January 22, 2009
We spent a long weekend in November and had the time of our lives! Everything is SO convenient. We LOVED Mt. Abram, a hidden treasure in Maine. We took full advantage of their two-for-one and fill a car deals on Thursday and Friday. The Chalet was better than we ever could have expected. Everything was right at our fingertips. We will be back again before the end of the ski season and hopefully again for leaf peeping. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our post holiday break. The accomodations are extremely comfortable with all of the amenities of a ski chalet which made it quite relaxing. The location was ideal for our ski getaway and so close to family friendly Mt. Abram skiing as well as Bethel and the Sunday River resort. We had a fantastic winter break and we will be back to enjoy it all over again.
Perfect little getaway
January 14, 2009
Home away from home. This was just perfect for our girl friends getaway. Only a little over an hours drive outside of Portland, this was the exactly what we were looking for. The house itself is so cozy you can't help but relax. Love the ski decor. It was so nice to have those little extras already there like coffee and hot chocolate, they came in handy coming off the slopes and made us feel so welcome. There were only four of us but we could have easily fit a few more comfortably. Even though Mt Abram is smaller than some mountains in Maine, it has it's advantages, no crowds, no lift lines and yet is still has a ton of snow. We had a blast! I will definitely plan a return trip.
Great place for family ski trip
February 25, 2008
This chalet had plenty of room to sleep our family of four very comfortably, and easily could have have accomodated extra people if we had them. The place is very clean, and comes equipped with everything you'll need....pots and pans, towels, sheets, soap, shampoo, etc. It also has washer and dryer. It is very close (about a 2 min drive)to Mt. Abram, which is a great mouintain to learn to ski on and is also less crowded than Sunday River, which is about 20 minutes away. There are many dining options just a short drive away in Bethel. Our family really enjoyed our stay in this chalet and plan to return next winter.
