Gros Morne National Park of Canada is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an area of great natural beauty with a rich variety of scenery, wildlife, and recreational activities. Visitors can hike through wild, uninhabited mountains and camp by the sea. Boat tours bring visitors under the towering cliffs of a freshwater fjord carved out by glaciers. Waterfalls, marine inlets, sea stacks, sandy beaches, and colorful nearby fishing villages complete the phenomenal natural and cultural surroundings. Woody Point is a gem nestled in a the heart of the Park.

Lounge in beautiful gardens right on the ocean's edge to relax and watch whales in the bay...Enjoy incredible kayaking, hiking, and fishing, just a few of the many activities offered in this wonderous natural playground....Explore the traditional art and unique culture of the small villages that are sprinkled along the coast of the 'Viking Trail'. The house, aptly named, is just a 10 minute drive from the famed "Green Gardens" coastal hiking trail, one of the most beloved features of Gros Morne National Park.

This heritage house, which belonged to one of the original families of Woody Point, is a charming, cozy homebase with a view of the waters of Bonne Bay. Just down the lane is a lovely sitting area with roses, cherry and apple trees and berry bushes that envelop the gardens overlooking the ocean, where you can sit and watch the whales that appear regularly in the bay.

Or, around the corner, stroll along the beach sprinkled with , with colorful boathouses, dories, lobstertraps and a field of wildflowers with a heritage lighthouse- a lovely spot to enjoy stunning views and sunsets.

There are three bedrooms which can comfortably sleep up to five people, two with a queen sized bed, and the other with a single bed. On the back of the house overlooking the ocean there is a large covered deck with a BBQ.

Everything you might need for your stay is supplied in the way of linens, towels etc. and the kitchen is stocked with plenty of dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, etc.

The house is designed for a relaxing, peaceful visit. Internet access is available at the cafe just down the road. It is furnished with traditional Newfoundland furnishings and local artwork. We ask guests to respect that the house is a non-smoking and no pets environment.
