Description of the Guntersville vacation cabin rental
Whether you come by car, plane, or motorcycle...this is the place to be on the lake. Only 2.9 miles from our own airport and the breathtaking Gunters Landing Golf Course, hidden at the top of Buck Island. We are just around the bend.Follow our winding road to heaven. The cabin was originally an art studio for the woman who built our home down the hill from the cabin. The property is very natural, with absolutely NO grass, just woods and paths, deer, and other forest creatures. You might catch a glimpse of some of our friends from the back deck of your cabin early in the morning as they follow the creek bed to the cove for a cool drink of crystal clear water fed by the Tennessee River main channel just past our boat dock. The cabin is fully furnished, you need only bring your clothes and food. Full kitchen including all the priorities: coffee pot, microwave, full oven and stove and a full size refrigerator. The bath has a shower/tub combination. There is cable for those who want to stay inside and WIFI for those who can't get away from the world. The cabin is air conditioned and heated. It also has a full size washer and dryer for your use. A newly remodeled 2nd bedroom as of 2014 has been added and there is a Queen bed plus hideaway couch for your convenience along with bunk beds and a full size Futon in the 2nd bedroom that overlook the lake. Please smoke on the open deck that is canelevered over the hillside. In the mornings you can watch the sun rise over the lake from the second bedroom or the open deck while you sip your first cup of coffee and listen as the birds softly sing you good morning. In the Fall as the leaves drift down slowly, they look like snow flakes in assorted colors...unbelievable. Absolutely's what sold us on this place. The boatdock is 4 years old and there is a full 24'boat stall that awaits you. It has a lift to keep your boat out of the water when you aren't fishing. If you or your children watch movies (DVD), we have one of the TV's equipped with a DVD player. We anxiously await your arrival, I promise you'll be back!
Area Information
The Guntersville Lake is over 69,000 acres that encompass most of Guntersville. In fact the city of Guntersville is considered an island in the middle of the Southern point of the lake which is near the dam. There are tons of arts and crafts shows, antiques galore, and its a great place for motorcycle enthusiasts. Surrounded by mountains and gorgeous scenery, one can only feel peace here. Huntsville is located only 29 miles away and Birmingham is an hour's drive South of us. Lake Guntersville is famous for its large bass population if you like to fish.Or if you love Crappie and Bream, folks are always on the lake fishing for both. From Dec. 3rd through around the 22nd promised to be lunker time for these babies. Just bring your long johns and Underarmour and you can be comfy all day or night...Crappie are some of the lightest tasting fish ever produced in fresh water. Because they are a migrational fish in nature, it is very hard to raise them in captivity. They migrate to different temperatures of water and usually follow river flow patterns during the summer. They can be found in 8'-12' of water near fallen trees, and other cover such as docks or under bridges. You will usually see people around here tied up under bridges. Chances are good they are fishing for these crepe paper thin, lipped fish. Just remember, don't jerk hard or you'll pull the hook right out! Poles are available at the dock if you don't have a boat or don't want to go out on the lake. You can however fish from some of the public docks and bridges scattered throughout the town. We have great restaurants and nightclubs, including the American Legion; home to the largest American Legion Riders Club in Alabama. We have several new restaurants in town and soon they will be opening a Publics Grocery; a hit with everyone. Karaoke is a favorite past time here just about everywhere one night or another. If you are looking for fine dining but didn't bring anything but your fishing clothes, have no fear, Table 6 is here. With over 100 years of ambiance, this quaint but elegant small restaurant is just the bomb. Voted #1 for some of the best lobster tail in all of Marshall County and succulent, mouth watering tender filets to die for. Call ahead for reservations and or simply walk in. Full bar up front faces the county court house and overlooks beautiful Lake Guntersville. What an incredible way to finish a day on the lake. Another cool thing is that you can dock your boat just 4 blocks away and it opens at 5pm Tuesdays thru Saturday. On Saturdays they have live music in the bar. If you mention staying at Paradise Cove, you could even get a free first drink me I'm the bartender Thursday thru Saturday nights. Across Hwy 69 bridge, you'll find Somewhere by the Lake; great entertainment nearly every night and wonderful food. You can actually reach it by boat. Several new food establishments are Ichiban and Sakura Japanese Grills, and Bridge Café and the latest are The Point at Valmonte and Cabo Mexican Restaurants. From the cabin, simply turn left at the driveway and then turn left at the stop sign 2.9 miles, Take a left again at the Mapco onto Hwy 431. When you get to town over the big bridge, just about everything you can do is right in front of you. Ask Andy what's going on or make a stop at the Chamber of Commerce at the foot of the bridge. Actually my trips are more fun but you can always find lots of info in the kitchen drawer in the cabin.
We also have a theater company that has plays nearly every week. Great entertainment. To add to the nostalgia is a real working drive-in...located on 431 South near Boaz. Current movies are shown nightly. Most of us have fond memories of drive-in movies... don't we?

Had a great time, cabin was great, fished a lot from the boat house, caught a few, the storms had the fishing messed up, Andy and Bernice were great, brought us some crappie to cook one night since the fishing was off. Great view of the state park lodge from the deck, really quite, wives read books and napped while the guys searched for fish to catch.

Owner's reply:

Since we had just finished remodeling it, I was nervous about who was going to be first and how they would treat my blood and sweat to get it ready in time.... I was more than pleased...what nice guys. You can come back anytime. You were both super nice and I'm so happy that you enjoyed your stay. We try hard to make this a place you will put on your calendar over and over....

Fishing trip/ Anniversary

June 6, 2012

We have been coming to Guntersville for our anniversary for the last few years. We were looking for a place that was near the water and still close to town! Paradise Cove was that place. We had a wonderful vacation. We fished and rested and ate out. Andy and Bernice were very hospitable. We will probably come again next year!

Wonderful stay!

May 30, 2012

Looking for a perfect, quaint cabin on the lake? You can't go wrong here. This cabin has all the amenities. What's better than that is Andy taking us out fishing! Now, that was something extra special. We will definitely stay here again. Thanks, Andy!

Owner's reply:

It was a pleasure having the Allens stay with us. Although they would fish off the dock for catfish and bream, I wanted to give them a better shot at the lake... so we went Crappie fishin'...and did we ever. When we're talkin' SLABS... these suckers were nearly 3lbs a piece. And since I cleaned em all, I sent the Allens home with some frozen slabs from last week. What a deal. We'd love to have this couple back anytime....

Guntersville fishing trip

May 10, 2012

Our stay at Paradise Cove was better than expected. Andy and Bernice were great in every way. They went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. the accommadations were comfortable, clean and plenty of room for at least four people. We really enjoyed BUCK. Meeting him is a must. The fishing on Guntersville lake is rated number one in the USA. The enclosed boat house at Paradise Cove is the best I have seen. All in All, It was a five star experience. We had a great time on our summer vacation. Boat house was a great benefit for daily fishing trips. Andy and Bernice were very nice and helpful to give some good fishing holes and beaches for our 8 yr old to play on. Caught my biggest bass ever! Didn't want to leave.

we had a great time. the only bad point was the moss or weeds in the lake. as we were there to fish this made it somewhat difficult. however we did catch 9 really good catfish.the cabin was just big enough for us all. we would stay again. Andy & Bernise (the owners)are great and made us feel very welcome.

Great place!

Memorial Weekend

May 25, 2009

We had a lovely relaxing Memorial Day trip at this little Cabin in the Woods. The owners are friendly and outgoing without being intrusive. There is a beautiful cove with a boathouse if your have a need for the "boat garage". The screened in porch lets you enjoy the outdoors bugfree! Great place for a young family or just a couple to get away.

Great Trip

April 15, 2009

My wife and I had a great trip. The cabin was great and clean. Use of the boat house was great. Rate was less than Hampton Inn and with use of the boat house was good value. This is a great place if you come to fish, sleep and eat. That's what we were there for. Small kitchen if you want to do your own cooking, we didn't we were on vacation. Thank for a great stay.

Great little cabin. Friendly Owners!!!

February 19, 2009

We decided to have a family get together at the lake last weekend and chose this cabin. It' was great, it had everything that you would need for a weekend getaway. It was very clean and the owners where very friendly. It had a beautiful view of the sun rise from the back porch and the lake is only a few steps down the hill. If you have a boat there is a boat house in the cove that you can dock at, and the state park is just across the lake.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

We had so much fun just being together in this beautiful, peaceful place. I am a divorced father and my children had a ball here. We were able to capture some really quality time. We will come back here for sure. Very nice! Thanks Andy
