Description of the Haliburton vacation cottage rental

Enjoy the magnificent sunsets from the extensive decks and docks. The cottage is nestled in the trees which provides extra privacy. The waters of Kennisis Lake are amongst the clearest and cleanest of all the cottage lakes in the near north.
The bathroom has been recently remodeled and has a modern tub/shower and toilet. There is a full kitchen with a full size refig/freezer, oven, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker.
We have full satelite television and even high speed internet for those who can't unplug.
There is a propane barbecue, and a campfire pit for those nightime marshmallow roasts.
A cute bunkie has overflow accomodation for up to four.
We provide a canoe, rowboat and windsurfer with four adult lifejackets.
The cottage has forced air heating for the cooler weather and there is a woodstove as well.

Area Description

The canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, swimming and fishing is outstanding. Kennisis is only 25 kilometers (as the loon flies)from Algonquin Park and hence sports landscapes made famous by the group of seven paintings.
The 50,000 acre Haliburton County Forest is nearby; offering extensive hiking and mountain biking trails through the wilderness, a wolf centre, etc.
Portage a canoe into a number of nearby lakes where there are few or no cottages. These pristine lakes offer campsites and interesting freshwater fishing opportunities.
There are several golf courses within a half hour and many within an hour's drive.

Our family enjoyed a week of peaceful bliss. The cottage was quite adequate, with all of the amenities we required. Our host was very gracious which made our foray into cottage renting much more pleasant. The sunsets,landscape and sometimes unexpected wildlife made this the perfect summer getaway....We would do it again, but for 2 weeks! It was a wonderful way to relax, and spend quality time together.
