Located in picturesque Ferguson's Cove, one of Halifax's best kept secrets you will find Freedom Seaside Cottage. This comfortable, cozy home boasts a view of the Atlantic Ocean that most people dream of being able to see. Situated directly across from McNab's Island, the house has views from virtually every window, whether it is looking into downtown Halifax, McNab's Island, or out to the deep waters of the Atlantic. From the house's wrap around deck or large windows you will be able to see the whales and porpoises that feed in front of the cottage, all kinds of wildlife and of course every boat that goes in and out of the harbour.
Freedom Seaside Cottage is pleased to be able to offer our guests the best of both worlds as it is minutes from a bus route, and is close to all amentities, yet is in a peaceful cove bordering the water. Relax and read a book on the sunny deck or in the private garden or go for a hike on one of the many walking trails minutes from the front gate at near by York Redoubt National Historic Site. A short drive from downtown Halifax, Freedom Seaside Cottage truly gives our guests the freedom to choose the type of vacation they want whether it is quiet and relaxing of full of adventure.
Dating back to the 1800's, the cottage is one of the better known homes in the Halifax area. Many renovations including a renovation in 2005 have made the home what it is today. Decorated with new furniture and linens, the cottage is equipped with televisions, stereo, barbeque, washer/dryer, dishwasher and full kitchen. We are pleased to supply our guests with movies, music, books, magazines, games and use of the in door spa. A complete guest book that includes information on our area, maps and take out menus from local restaurants and information on the home is at your disposal. We have done our best to include everything you would need to make your vacation as comfortable as your own home.
Freedom Seaside Cottage has three bedrooms that can sleep six people in a clean pet friendly smoke free environment. Each spacious bedroom is fully furniushed with everything you could need for your stay. For those who enjoy a little extra privacy, two of the bedrooms feature access to the the private back deck where you will also find a fresh herb garden. The home has one bathroom upstairs as well as a half bathroom downstairs next to a jacuzzi room that overlooks the water. The casual dining room with built in bench can comfortably sit ten people while they enjoy a meal and breathtaking view.

In the immediate area of Freedom Seaside Cottage you will find many activities sure to peak the interest of any age. If you enjoy walking, hiking or mountain biking, York Redoubt National Historic Site has beautiful oceanfront trails for you to enjoy and is just around the corner. You'll also find many parks, lakes, beaches, golf and shopping just minutes away. One of the most popular stops in Atlantic Canada, Peggy's cove, is roughly 45 minutes away with a beautiful scenic drive.
