Description of the Hana vacation home rental
Conde Nast Travelers Magazines, "Deal of the Month, December 2005"
Hale Manu, which means the Bird House, is our larger two bedroom guest house (inquire about our equally fantastic one bedroom home, Hale Ulululu). It has a more relaxed, fun and playful personality. You will wake up to the sounds and sights of the various tropical birds as well as the beautiful ocean view and sunrise vistas that both of our guest houses share. Hale Manu underwent major renovations in 2004 including a new kitchen with new appliances. We offer it extremely well equipped (see kitchen inventories on our website). The spacious Hawaiian styled architecture includes open beamed ceilings and a large center cupola for great airflow. Both bedrooms have ocean views and at night you will hear the surf crashing in the distance. The guest house is furnished with a fun vintage Hawaiian flare, including a refurbished1930 collectible rattan living room set we found and shipped all the way from a small Texas town and original oil paintings by local Hana artists. Sink yourself into the couch in our cozy reading nook and grab a book off the bamboo shelves to relax the night away. We have a collection of coffee table books about Hawaii and Polynesia, which can be enjoyed during your stay. We even have bird books and binoculars for the avid bird watchers!

Hale Manu sits perched up at the rear of the property. There is a large deck off the house with a charcoal BBQ, outdoor dining table and chairs great for enjoying sunrise. Enjoy sunning with great ocean views and breezes. In the evening, dine under the stars while surrounded by the beautiful gardens with fun tiki torches setting the mood! (See our amenities link on our website for a more detailed list - see link to website in this ad).

Both of our guest houses have stack washer/dryers, tub and shower combinations and enjoy the convenience of on the grid electricity, telephone, cable and water.

Area Info
Hana is commonly known as the last Hawaiian place. The scenery is breathtaking, the local population friendly and the whole experience is much more culturally stimulating. You will feel like you are visiting the real Hawaii and not an area over run with big resorts that make you feel like you could be anywhere!

Hana is special and unique. Our guests, almost without fail, always wish they would have booked more time here. See the guestbook comments link in this ad.
Other Vacation Rental Amenities
We are committed to you having exactly the vacation you have dreamed of. We will direct you to the many activities and sites that make Hana famous. Local activities include Hiking, Fishing, Wildlife Viewing, Horseback Riding, In-House Massage, Restaurants, Sightseeing, Swimming, Snorkeling/Diving, Surfing, Kayaking, Shelling and more. We can share our knowledge of Hana with you- where to find the secret spots and where to buy local fresh fish when available!

Guestbook

We loved staying at Malanai! It was like our
own private paradise...It was so close to
Hana town, and we could walk to the
gorgeous Hamoa Beach and Maka'alae
pasture. Thank you so much!!!
