Description of the Hanalei vacation home rental

This property is located on a 5 acre farm owned by yoga teacher/massage therapist Michaelle Edwards. The rental is the downstairs area of a large home occupied by the owner only. The only shared area is the laundry room and there is privacy and quietness abounding at this scenic homestay. High ceilings, all tile floors and natural cotton linens make this the ideal Kauai vacation spot at a great price. The rental is over 800 sq. ft. with full kitchen,full indoor bath and extra outdoor hot shower. King and queen size bedrooms, living room, patio and gas grill are included. Extras include fresh produce from the farm in season, surfboards, kayaks, mountain bikes and snorkel gear at no extra cost. Property includes a 700 square foot separate workout studio available for use by guests. Owner is also available for private yoga and massage on the property.

Area Information

Located on the Hanalei ranchlands above the beautiful town of Hanalei, you can be on the beach or shopping for groceries in just minutes from the location. Only a 5 minute drive to the beach at Hanalei or Anini, you will staying in a serene natural setting with phenomenal views. Trails to the Na Pali coast, golf, horse back riding and zip lining are only minutes away. The property is at the end of a private road so there is no traffic whizzing by or sounds of civilization. Awaken to the beautiful sounds of Kauai's songbirds and tradewinds. At night, the stars gazing from your deck is phenomenal. There are no bright city lights to compete with the vivid beauty of the nighttime Kauai sky. All homes in this area require a minimum of 5 acres per home so there is a sense of space around the property and ample tradewind breezes to keep you cool and refreshed.

There are great farmers markets twice a week to get fresh Kauai produce and owner provides free veggies and fruit in season for your stay here. Yoga and massage are available on the property. Kayaks, surf boards, body boards, snorkely gear and mountain bikes are included with the rental. Owner is a 25 year resident of Kauai and can provide a personal health retreat for you with yoga, massage, breathing, and chronic pain management. You will get personal help to point you towards hidden trails and adventures not in the book.

Feel at Home on Kauai

This rental is in an ideal location if you like the Hanalei - Kilauea area. Michaelle welcomes you to her property with unlimited access to her tropical gardens, yoga studio and classes, and open mountain vistas. We were able to completely relax here, tuning up with morning yoga and freshly pressed juice from her citrus trees, venturing (fully equipped with borrowed gear) to nearby beaches for the day. We are easy-going seasoned travelers who don't much mind a little wear and tear around the edges. The kitchen is adequate for simple cooking. The bed was super comfortable and we valued the feeling of security on this 5-acre property, screen doors letting in warm island breezes day and night. You can't beat Michaelle's warm generosity. She's available and provided everything we needed with ease.

Hidden Gem for the budget minded!

We stayed 3 weeks in the studio instead of the apartment because it was only my husband and I. Hanalei is on the north side which means we experienced a moist rain daily and slept to the sounds of quiet rain each night. The unforgettable mountain views with waterfalls greeted me each morning as I drank Kona coffee. Paradise! Kauai has it all! We loved the king size bed and outside grill with patio. A full size refrigerator and garden was helpful because we cooked our own meals. Don't forget your laptop because there is no cable here and the TV is small. The rooster was an unwanted alarm at 3am and again at 5am so we started to keep him in the pen until we got up at 8am. In Kauai rosters roam around everywhere. Michaelle and sister Erin were helpful and friendly hosts. Big Save grocery in Hanalei was cheaper than Food Land in Princeville for groceries. Food Land does have three separate clearance areas for meat, bread and dairy items. These are hard to find at first but with some effort you can locate them in the store and visit them in the evening on your way home. We had laundry facilities, kayaks, surfboards, beach accessories, snorkel gear and boogie boards all free to use in the garage. Beautiful beaches everywhere, we went to a different one everyday. If It was cloudy on the north side, then drive 20 minutes to the east side and enjoy the sun and breeze. Temperatures are so constant that the weather is not even given on the radio...75 to 80 everyday :) The night sky with the outside shower at the end of the day was heavenly perfect! Staying with locals was what made the 3 weeks even better. This hidden gem is what made it possible to stay so long. Highly recommended if you don't want a resort vacation. This hidden gem has it all.....try it. The spectacular view is better than the pictures:)! I am ready to go back! Teresa and Tom
