Description of the Hardwood vacation cabin rental
A large walkout deck has a nice gas grill with 2 tables. The grounds facing the water has 2 picnic tables with a charcoal grill as well- sure to suit all of your outdoor grilling needs. There is a firepit with seating facing the water to take in those great evening campfires. So much to do and enjoy!
The cabin is located in a very private location, but within a short drive to Norway, Iron Mountain, or Escanaba MI. Here you can do as much or as little as you like. Activities include, but are not limited to: Whitewater rafting, Snowmobiling, Atv-ing, skiing, fishing, hunting, swimming, pontoon boat rides, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, shopping, movie theater, restaurants, casino, mine tours, plus much more! You could also take a day trip to the shores of Lake Michigan. You will find we are located in an area that is absolutely beautiful and is a nice escape from city life. You and your family will love it here.

Great Place To Enjoy The UP

My wife, son and I recently took our first trip to the Upper Peninusla. We had several properties to chose from but this one appealed to us due to the lake setting, large yard, and the king-sized beds (my son and I are both 6'4"). Due to a project I was completing at work, Internet access was a requirement. I emailed the owner who said they didn't have Internet at the property but were considering it. She later emailed and said it would be installed before we arrived. We booked! People often ask us what was the best part of the trips we take. I would have to say that on this trip the best part was the cabin. The location is fantastic. At least in May there is little activity on the lake so it was very quiet. The views are just great and osprey and bald eagles nest right out back. While there we saw 51 different species of birds, heard coyotes howling in the evenings, saw deer nearly every time we drove out, and watched numerous beautiful sunsets. If you like stargazing you'll really enjoy sitting around the firepit on a clear night. The cabin is well furnished, comfortable, and feels like home from the first minute you arrive. We hated to leave and couldn't believe how fast the week flew by. Want to enjoy the UP? Stay here.

Our stay here was great. The log cabin had all the amenities we could ask for and the kids enjoyed all the boats that were supplied. (Pontoon boat, row boat, paddle boat). This area was so peaceful and excellent for campfires and fishing. We loved that we were far enough from town to relax but close enough if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Laid-Back Family Retreat

First time in the Upper Peninsula. This cabin was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of life and work. The secluded setting was a welcome retreat. Our family enjoyed the house, the yard, the lake and the boats. There was no reason to leave the property...everything was right there. Fishing was great. Sunsets were breathtaking. Cabin was clean, organized and had everything we needed. Our kids are still talking about the fun they had at the cabin. We will be back for sure! Owners were easy to work with and the price is fair. A price tag can't be put on family time together at a beautiful vacation spot.

Wonderful Vacation

What a great vacation spot to get away from it all. We spent the week fishing (daughter caught 17 fish on Thursday - from the dock), paddling around the lake, biking, swimming, and sitting by the fire. Everything was terrific. Great for the kids. Plenty of wildlife and nature to interact with. Iron Mountain and Norway are nearby for supplies, and there are maps to local waterfalls and trails. The yard is huge, so we set up all the games we had at once. The house is well-appointed, very very clean, and very comfortable. The cell service is very weak and spotty, but that can be good thing, too. No Internet service, but there is satellite TV, DVD, and VHS, as well as a pool table and electronic dart board. We couldn't have been more pleased, and the owners are very nice to work with.

VonSeda's Hardwood Hideaway is very peaceful and the cabin has everything you'd want if looking for a family vacation at a luxury location. The back yard facing the water has an awesome deck for enjoying early morning coffee and listening to the loons. We were visited each morning by several Canada Geese families feeding on the lawn near the water. You can watch the kids enjoying the water and fishing right from the top deck. We stayed three nights with our two son's and their families. The beds are very comfortable and the cabin is top notch. Our four grandchildren loved sleeping in the loft. They spent three days in the water and catching many many fish (which they released). The cabin is so large that you never feel crowded and it has many special touches that make you feel right at home. We made several trips with the canoe, paddle boat, and the row boat. Once you get to the lodge, you want to stay and enjoy the scenery spread out in front of you. Don't hesitate about this rental, it is worth every penny. The hosts are great and were very accommodating. We rent once or twice each year all over the country and have never been disappointed. The McKinney's, Wisconsin.
When we arrived at VonSeda's, the first thing we noticed was the amazing view- quite breathtaking. The cabin is set in a spot that allows you to get a wonderful view of the water from just about anywhere. This place is great- a hidden secret for sure. If you have the chance to get away you would certainly feel the same way as we did. We had never even heard of Hardwood before- but now that we know it, we'll never forget it.
The cabin is super clean, and has just about everything you can think of to make your stay comfy. The hummingbirds greeted us each day we were there. We also loved watching the numerous loons and osprey in the water catching fish! Kayaking is unbelievable here. We spent hours out on the water exploring and maneuvering between the islands. The kids loved fishing- even catching many right off of the dock. The water is nice and clear, sandy beach up close which is really nice for the kids. I can't say enough good things about VonSeda's. We will certainly be back- already planning dates for next summer. Thank you for letting us enjoy your little slice of heaven!
