Description of the Harwich vacation guesthouse rental
Clean, quiet, two-story rebuilt Cape fully equipped with 2 refrigerators, new propane gas stove, microwaves, dishwasher, TV, and comfortable beds. Year round home has oil heat, A/C, 3 propane fireplaces, 3 private baths, outdoor picnic tables, beach and deck furniture, umbrellas,and large BBQ grill. Decks and balconies overlook gorgeous views of the Herring River and 200 acres of Harwich Conservation lands. Fruit trees and gardens, water features and flowers surround the property. It is a secluded bird and nature lovers paradise.
Area Description
The house is a mile to the Nantucket Sound Beaches in one direction and in the other direction: 3/4 of a mile down the dirt road to a life-guarded town lake called Sand Pond. The bike trail that covers the Cape east is only 1/2 mile down the same scenic road where you pass a cranberry bog and the resevoir known for gorgeous sunsets, and fishing. Crabs are caught over the bridges that can be seen from the house. Harwich is delightful, located half way between Hyannis and Chatham on Route 28. The beaches are sandy and flat, no surf until Orleans where the dunes, cliffs, and open ocean with huge waves begin. To walk the beaches on the Massachusetts Bay side (north) one must watch the tides.
Restaurants, shops, grocery stores, tennis, go-carts, trampolines, town concerts, movies, and malls are within a few miles in all directions. Nights are cool. Breezes delightful.
Weekly Harwich beach stickers only $55.00 at the Harwich Recreation Center or some beaches $15.00 per day. Natural history museum, fire museum, glass blowing,and other activities along route 6A on opposite side of Cape. This house is the last house on a paved road that becomes dirt road which beginsthe conservation area, bike trail, and river section of Harwich.
