Description of the Harwich vacation home rental
BEACHES: All houses on the street share the deeded beach, so it's not private, but a short walk from the house and a nice way to enjoy the water (swimming, using the kayak or fishing from the shore). There's also a large town beach (with a lifeguard) about a 1/2 mile down the road. By purchasing a beach sticker, you can use the boat ramp to put in a ski or sail boat. I will leave a 2 person kayak at the house for your use as well.
Bank Street beach on Nantucket Sound is Harwich's best, and is 4 miles away.
Nauset Beach (National Seashore) in Orleans is only 20 minutes away.
RECREATION: The Cape Cod Tech High School is a 1/2 mile down the road which has tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and a 1/4 mile track. This is also where the Brewster Whitecaps (Cape Cod League) play.
There are several acres of conservation land where you can hike (or run) on paths through the woods. They are 3/4 of a mile away and easily reached via the bike trail.
If you're interested in golf, Cranberry Golf course is about 1 1/2 miles away, and one of the best courses on the Cape.

LOTS of ROOM! This HOUSE HAS EVERYTHING!

Lots of room! Including large game room with pool table. Large front porch and XLarge back deck. Big yard for games, etc. Also, has hammock and horseshoes in upper yard! Walk out the front door and you can see the beautiful view of Long Pond, walk 30 steps to Long Pond to the small local beach area, perfect for quick dips and fishing, kayaking (2 person kayak at the house with life jackets!). Walk out the back door..down small path to the bike path! General store a few steps away. Explore down bike path a little and more public beach areas. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, plenty of room, we figured out with all the beds and pull out couches, could have slept 13 to 14 people! The 2 bedrooms upstairs have walk in closet area for suitcases, clothes, etc. This house has everything! Refrigerator even has ice maker for your drinks, coolers/etc. Gas grills and plenty of candles, grilling accessories, plates, all at the house. Laundry and dishwasher. Just bring your towels and sheets! The kitchen is smaller size but you're on vacation, who spends time in the kitchen! We had a blast and are planning to rent this house in Harwich next July. The owner was available via email and/or phone calls for any questions we had about house/area. Very close to house, we played tennis daily about 1-2 miles away..VERY close to Rt6 and a few miles from Rt28. Harwich Port, a great little town to walk around with many ocean beaches around. And the bay side a couple of miles the other way....so much to do, and all so close to the house. You could have taken the bike path just about anywhere from the house.
