Description of the Hauula vacation home rental
All amenities including A/C, modern well equipped large kitchen, plus a smaller kitchen in the master suite. Gas BBQ, wireless internet, HD TV's, (tv's in all rooms) washer/dryer, beach toys including boogie boards, snorkle gear, etc...
Nicely furnished...two diningroom tables. 3 queens, 1 king, 1 double futon, 2 floor cushions (for more sleepers)
Punalu'u Beach Park is across the street for picnickers and lazy beach days. We have our own beach access for the kayak and quick dips in the water, or to begin your mile long beach walk.
This house is not much to look at from the outsidebut has the WOW factor on the inside.
I have many references from families who have enjoyed the house and had great times.
Area Information
Mom and Pop markets, Foodland in Laia, also Polynesian Cultural Center (7 miles).
Waikiki and downtown Honolulu about a 35 minute trip. Northshore the same.

Great place for a family vacation

We had a group of 11 and there was plenty of room for everyone. It saved us a lot of money renting this home vs. getting a hotel in the city. Willow was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. THEY have everything you could possibly need, beach towels, cookware, toiletries exc... Only a couple of negitives, stove needs to be replace (it's about to fall apart) and the front screen door has seen better days. The house has an inital musty smell, but I'm sure it's because of all the moisture and it grows on you. Overall, this place is the BEST bang for your BUCK! We really enjoyed our time at the house and the location is great! Thank you Jim and Willow!

Thank you for the honest review...We will go ahead and replace the stove...and the screen door (for the 3rd time this year!)
As far as the musty environment...we have had a record rainfall this year so we just need some time to dry out.

Fantastic Vacation

We had such a great time here. The house came with board games, a Wii and all the water toy's you need to have a great time. The house had plenty of room for all 7 of us. The people on Oahu were so friendly. We did not want to come home.

Family Vacation

This was our first experience renting a house for a vacation and it was great. It was so much better than staying in a Hotel. Everything was as stated in the add the house had everything we needed plus. it was clean and comfortable. Jim and his property manager Willow were very easy to work with. We will be renting a home on are next vacation where every we go.

Amazing trip dispite the weather!
April 12, 2012
We stayed here in early march and it just so happened that it was the rainiest two weeks they'd had in a long time. Absolute downpour with only 1 sunny day in Waikiki, but it actually gave us a lot of time to spend enjoying the house! We ended up having 10 people staying together. The futon and couch were very comfortable for the people staying in the living room. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable, except one of the beds that was pretty hard though we found a mattress pad in the closet. We cooked all our meals at the house and everything worked great, the bbq and all appliances. They had enough beach towels and bath towels for all of us to use if we hadn't brought our own. The beach access is about 100ft from the house and you're right there at the water. The mornings that were sunny it was SO nice to walk on the beach. The woman that helps manage the property was VERY nice and helpful. She was definitely there when we needed anything which is very much appreciated. Nothing bad to say about this property, we had a great experience. If you're thinking about staying here though keep in mind it's a bit of a drive to any of the tourist areas but that's great if what you're looking for is to experience the real Hawaii!

Paradise found!

To say we left kicking and screaming would be an understatement! Jim has provided everything to make this a home away from home. The wonderful open floor plan made it so nice to visit with our family of 8, without feeling the least bit cramped. Having 2 master suites was, well... sweet :) We loved the private beach accross the street, and made great use of the kayak and all the beach equipment. What a savings it was to not have to buy snorkel gear, or have to worry about packing towels.. all was provided. It is certainly on the tame side of the island, but frankly it allowed us time to visit more as a family. We even put together 2 of the puzzles provided. This will go down as our favorite family vacation, and in large part due to this wonderful Hawaiian home. We absolutely can't wait to come back to our Punaluu Ohana, and can't wait to rent this gorgeous home again soon! Aloha!

Our stay at Big Family Home
October 4, 2011
The house lived up to our expectations, The wide entryway opened up to a large living room adjoining the dining room and kitchen and an island stove facing the dining room. With the large dining table, lots of seating and the openness of the living area, it was excellent for visiting while cooking, watching TV, playing games, etc. As advertised, the house had everything you could ask for. All you need are your clothes and a toothbrush. Toys include a kayak, snorkle gear, swim fins, water shoes, extra sandals. Jim keeps dishes, silverware, paper products, everything but perishables, plus a gas BBQ ready to go. A small beach is accessible just across the street with a much larger beach area a four minute walk. We had six adults and one car but there is room for more people and parking for more vehicles. The house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and flat screen TV's in each room. All in All, the house came as advertised and only 45 minutes from Waikiki. After visiting the big city, it was great to get back to relative serenity. It is a lived in house so you don't have to tip toe around and is very comfortable.

We came to Hawaii for our friend's wedding. There were a total of 10 adult guest that stayed in Jim's beach house. I could not have asked for anything better!! This house was amazing. The location is what makes the house so great. It is a short walk (across the street) to the beach which might I add makes you feel like you have your own private beach. With the exception of the casual dog walker and fisherman, the beach was all ours!! And Jim makes sure you have enough supplies for the perfect day at the beach! Chairs, towels, umbrellas, sand toys, snorkel gear and not to mention a kayak!! There are lots of coral where we were able to see lots of fish. It was nice not having to go rent gear to experience this! The house is also filled with lots of bath towels, extra bedding and futon beds. The kitchen had lots of appliances and a pantry full of paper goods and extra spices!! The house definetly feels like home when you are there. Its very cozy and beautifully decorated. The house is very spacious. All the bedrooms were a good size. We had 20 people in the house getting ready the day of the wedding. Even though the house is a little ways from the downtown area, the drive is worth it. You get great views of the ocean and the 2 lane hwy is lined with beautiful tropical trees!! The house is also about 25 mins from the Turtle Bay Resort. This was the best location to watch the sunset. There is a grocery store and gas station like 5 mins from the house. Overall our trip was amazing
