Description of the Hayward vacation home rental
SUGAR'S RUN LODGE
Summer rental on Grindstone Lake, 7 miles south of Hayward. House and cabin are the last remains of our family owned and operated resort. The cabin is a vintage true log cabin built in 1929. The house was built in 1948. My family ran the resort since 1939, we have always prided ourselves on clean cabins, hospitality, and service. We live here, and are here to help and serve you in any way we can. Both the house and cabin in excellent shape, both are fully furnished, with full kitchens with all dishes etc provided. We provide sheets but do not provide personal linens.
Five bedrooms, all bedrooms have a double bed, except the master bedroom in the house has a queen size bed.
The children's room in the house has a double bed and a daybed with trundle, making it capable of sleeping 4.
The house has log futon on the porch.

3 baths, 2 in house, and 1 in cabin
House has remodeled kitchen with dishwasher, gas range, refrigerator, and microwave.

House has an enclosed 3 season porch with log futon. House can sleep 10 comfortably. Cabin has a screened porch with porch swing, and can sleep 6 comfortably.
Both the house and cabin have TV's with dvd/vhs but do not have cable, and have NO TV reception.
We provide bed linens. You must provide you own bath and beach towels, soap, shampoo, and other personal items.
A wonderful place for a large extended family to stay and play together. Spend times, together but plenty of room for privacy and quiet times.
Both come with private dock, and boat lifts can be provided as necessary. Canoe available upon request. Small 12 foot aluminum fishing boat available upon request also. You must provide your own Coast Guard Approved Life Jackets, for every person in the boat or canoe.
The calendar shows dates that both the house and cabin are rented. Open dates mean that one or the other is still available. Please call or email for additional information, Thank You for looking. We look forward to serving you!

Why should you rent from us, rather than a property management company? We live here and are available 24/7. We personally clean our cabins, making sure everything is as it should be. We have grown up here and know the area and can help you with any questions you may have.

Wonderful, peaceful and relaxing are proper adjectives for this property. I could sit all day on the pier or the porch mesmerized by the sight and sound of the waves rolling onto the shore. The fall colors were beautiful, and the nearby town provided great shopping and dining. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful week on Grindstone Lake

Elieen and Skip were wonderful hosts as we spent time in the quaint Birchwood cabin. Sleeping accommodations for 3 were great and the screened in porch a favorite. Steep steps to the dock below the cabin, although much easier access onto the main one a few steps away. Lake very shallow with nice sand; quiet during our week. Some good fishing but you have to be willing to work to find depth. Bring your own boat if you are able, although the row boat and canoe were plenty fun. Can't wait to book next year!

Our group (9 people) spent a quiet and relaxing week at the house and cabin on Grindstone Lake. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A beautiful location and close to golf and shopping. Cabin on Grindstone Lake

The cabin and lake were great! The cabin has plenty of room and feels like staying in the northwoods should. We had 11 people and everyone had plenty of room to relax and sleep at night. The only part, which is not a big deal is that the owners live on site (house next door). At times, I felt like they were watching and listening to us, but I'm sure they were just hanging out enjoying the weather and view as well. Overall, great place! I would stay here again.
