We couldn't have chosen a nicer place to stay. The owners were so nice and understanding of our needs. We rented the "cabin" to house my family that came in from out of town for our wedding. They were all very impressed with the condition and size of the log home. I could go on and on, but words can't describe the comfort we enjoyed during our week stay.

Wonderful, peaceful and relaxing are proper adjectives for this property. I could sit all day on the pier or the porch mesmerized by the sight and sound of the waves rolling onto the shore. The fall colors were beautiful, and the nearby town provided great shopping and dining. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Wonderful week on Grindstone Lake
August 6, 2012
Elieen and Skip were wonderful hosts as we spent time in the quaint Birchwood cabin. Sleeping accommodations for 3 were great and the screened in porch a favorite. Steep steps to the dock below the cabin, although much easier access onto the main one a few steps away. Lake very shallow with nice sand; quiet during our week. Some good fishing but you have to be willing to work to find depth. Bring your own boat if you are able, although the row boat and canoe were plenty fun. Can't wait to book next year!

Our group (9 people) spent a quiet and relaxing week at the house and cabin on Grindstone Lake. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A beautiful location and close to golf and shopping. When we left the Eileen had made us chocolate chip cookies for the return trip. Thanks so much for your hospitality and wonderful accomodations!!

Cabin on Grindstone Lake
August 24, 2011
The cabin and lake were great! The cabin has plenty of room and feels like staying in the northwoods should. We had 11 people and everyone had plenty of room to relax and sleep at night. The only part, which is not a big deal is that the owners live on site (house next door). At times, I felt like they were watching and listening to us, but I'm sure they were just hanging out enjoying the weather and view as well. Overall, great place! I would stay here again.

About:This is the property my husband grew up on. His parents ran a family owned resort from 1939 to 1986. Due to age and health reasons they had to sell of 4 of the cabins down the shore. We spent 25 years in the Coast Guard and retired back to the property in 2001. We remodeled his parents home, and ...
