Riverwood Lodge is an ideal Wine Country retreat...spacious, welcoming, beautifully furnished, and so close to all the wonderful attractions that Sonoma Wine Country has to offer. This remarkable, private vacation home is located in a peaceful riverfront setting just 1-1/2 miles from Healdsburg's city limits.

Situated directly on the river, with great views and amenities, Riverwood provides the perfect setting that encourages guests to relax, unwind, and re-charge. Enjoy use of the hot tub, cedar sauna, kayaks, log swing, covered river view decks, free WiFi, spacious great room, grand size dining table, indoor recreation room with ping pong, and much more. We take care to provide high quality amenities, bedding, and kitchen equipment, too, for your enjoyment. Occupancy is limited to 8 overnight guests, plus children under three.

Riverwood is a favorite with every age group. This spacious home offers many places to gather, and activities for every age group. There's a circle of leather sofas around the river rock fireplace for enjoyable evenings with friends, and a charming kitchen with rustic table and chairs for intimate conversations over coffee. There's a truly grand dining table, and a great room with soaring ceilings. The athletic set will enjoy ping pong tournaments in the extra large recreation room. The river view spa is a favorite place for those who want to sit, soak, and unwind. There are two kayaks for exploring the river and a log swing overlooking the private beach. There are large, covered, river view decks furnished for outdoor dining, and a comfortable round lounger on the patio for naps or watching passing canoe traffic. You'll find something enjoyable for everyone in your group.

Area Information

Our four homes are located along the Russian River, just outside of the idyllic town of Healdsburg, California, recognized as a world renowned wine producing region, and graced with a temperate Mediterranean climate and scenery reminiscent of Tuscany or the French countryside. There are more than 70 wineries in the immediate area, and in addition, there are those in the surrounding counties of Napa and Mendocino, just a short afternoon trek away.

In Healdsburg you'll find a wonderful selection of fine dining choices, great boutique shopping, and prestigious winery tasting rooms, all within an easy stroll of Healdsburg's central plaza. You'll find that Healdsburg is the epicenter of Sonoma County Wine Country, and a unique combination of world class style and small town charm.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

We are a riverfront property with a private beach, and offer two kayaks for guests' use. We have a spa, sauna, and decks overlooking the river. There's an indoor ping pong table in the recreation room. We provide an IPod/MP3 player, dock, and recharging station. Two fishing poles are provided (licenses required for adults), complimentary winery tour maps, and a restaurant guide with sample menus is provided for most area restaurants, day passes to Healdsburg's private Parkpoint Health Club for weight training and use of the swimming pool are available for $10, even prospecting equipment and gold mining pans for use along the river in the summer months. There's a log lawn swing for leisurely afternoons, a charming handmade checker table, and a library of books on subjects of natural history, travel, wildlife, and local area history, as well as a video library. We work hard to keep our home sparkling clean. All linens are laundered with soaps free of perfumes and dyes, and we use non-toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning products. Baby equipment is provided (portable bed, high chair, and baby gates.) Convenient keyless door entry system makes access for guests both easy and secure, so there's never a worry about losing keys.

The house was beautiful - spacious and clean, with a lovely view of the river. The beds were very comfortable, and the neighborhood was quiet, allowing for a great night's sleep. We stayed here with 3 other couples and used the house as a base for cycling around Sonoma. The kitchen was well equipped with staples, making cooking a breeze. We only ate out 2 nights that week. We would stay here again - really a great vacation!

No Better Way to Base Your Wine Country Experience

I took my family to the Napa/Sonoma wine country for a vacation. We had 8 adults and a couple of young children. We found Riverwood via a web search and thought it would support us. Well, it turned out to be a perfect place to base our 7 days of wine country excursions! First, located in Healdsburg, it was a central launching point for wine country drives each day to different "wine roads." In addition, Healdsburg itself was a super place for wine, shopping, and visiting. Second, the house itself was just wonderful! It is extremely large with 4 quite large bed rooms and several smaller options. Seating was everywhere, inside and out. It was well supplied and furnished. Access to the River was easy and we enjoyed the River each day. Third, the booking process was easy and came well informed for the house as well as the area. We could not recommend a place more than RIverwood.

We stayed at the Riverwood and had a wonderful vacation. The home comfortably accomodated our family of 8 adults and 6 children. The home is well equipped and has lots of seating areas. The large dining room table was a plus. The river was just out back and the house had a large outdoor patio so the adults could sit on the patio and keep an eye on the kids down at the river. The reservations manager and owner are very helpful throughout the rental process. I would highly recommend this home.

We provide basic TV cable service since guests find so many entertaining choices while visiting (from wine tasting to kayaking), however we gladly make special arrangements for any guest wanting a particular event (we've arranged for the Tour d' France, golf, sports of all kinds, even cricket games broadcast from Asia). Please know that we are happy to go the extra mile to please our guests and meet their needs when asked.

â��This was the second annual wine country vacation for our group of four couples. We were referred to Riverwood Lodge by a friend who had stayed at a sister lodge. Everyone in our group, as well as friends who stayed elsewhere, was very impressed by the condition and amenities of the Lodge. The minute we walked in, the positive comments started to flow. It is clean, well-maintained, spacious, and very comfortable. We cooked for 10 every night with ease.
