Description of the Helen vacation cabin rental

You'll think you've died and gone to heaven! Everything you could want from a vacation rental property. This luxury cabin known as "White Rapids Retreat" is located on the Buck Shoals gorgeous wide stretch of the Chattahoochee River near Helen and is anything but ordinary. Relax and sleep to the sounds of the rushing river rapids just 50 feet from the cabin and enjoy the panoramic open views of the river while soaking in the hot tub.

This unique section of the river directly behind the cabin is your own private water amusement park: enjoy swimming, sunning and relaxing on the sandbar in the middle of the river, tubing / kayaking / rafting from behind the cabin, playing on the natural rock waterslides, and hiking along the river. The fishing is excellent behind the cabin for smallmouth bass, striped bass, catfish, and bream.

The kids will love climbing trees and playing on the 3 different swings on the property. Your stress will melt away as you catnap in the riverside hammock. The screened porch with natural slate tile floor overlooks the river and has satellite TV so Dad won't miss any of the football game. Any gourmet chef would be delighted by the beautiful kitchen, stainless steel grill on the deck, and half drum charcoal grill down by the river.

The picnic table next to the river makes the perfect place for a Sunday afternoon cookout. Your kids will never forget the family nights spent around the riverside campfire telling ghost stories, catching fireflies, and roasting marshmallows. This property is very private and secluded, the opposite side of the river is part of a state park. Enjoy nature walks through the woods on the 2 trails on the property.

The cabin is very secluded and has many great features. We loved the river access and the campfire area. The cabin itself is very clean. The hammock and hot tub are nice for relaxing as well. It was unfortunately too early in the year to catch fish and there wasn't a propane tank on the grill, but thoe were minor details. We loved the place and we will go back again.

The house was fantastic and river beautiful. It was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. The only negative was that there was no wood cut for the fireplace or matches to start a fire, so we did not get to enjoy it. I would definitely go back, especially in the summer or fall to enjoy the river more. I would also suggest in the directions to be specific about which way the house is once you get to the driveway. At night, you can not tell which is the log cabin with green roof. Bear left at end of driveway would be more explicit. We all had a great time there.

This home was awesome and we had a blast. The grandkids waded across the rocks for 2 days. We especially enjoyed our campfire, the hot tub and cooking out. The back porch was perfect. The owners are so lucky and they were so nice to communicate with. We plan to go back in the spring.

The house and especially the river on the property were spectacular. I've rented quite a few cabins in this area but this one is my favorite. The owner is also very easy to communicate with and was able to offer up personal suggestions for kayaking and dining. I'll be back.
