Old fashion fun in our rental in the North East Georgia mountains near Helen Georgia: on over 12 acres & 1200 ft. on river
We are truly in a quiet area in Georgia mountains, 12 mintues from Helen Ga. Unlike in Helen you can take long walks in the peace and quiet of the woods.
Wild life is everywhere!
Fall is a wonderful time here with all the hardwoods on the property!
Then of course being on the river in an area that is not open to the general public is just a blessing!


From Mid May to Mid Sept.
Free:::tubing,privite tube run,rope swing,2 kayaks are avail.and slide.. longest tube run 4 1/2 hrs. Kayak run about 2 hours.


Romantic farmhouse style home in quiet area steps to the river. Lot's wildlife and great fishing. You will see deer,turkey,river otters,beavers..on and on....

This Rental cabin is a Farm house style cottage is tucked away on 14 total acres in the mountains in Georgia near Helen and is a wonderful place for a special occasion or romantic get away.
Summer months are filled with family fun! So much to do at the cottage you may never leave.
Spoil yourself with ultra thick feather padded beds,and feather comforters. Suggle up with the wonderful fire place in the master bedroom, or the fireplace in the living room
In the master bedroom you can open the french door and snuggle in the hammock for two on the huge porch over looking the Chattahoochee river!
It has a large hot tub tucked in a secluded spot on the screened in porch with a rock wall behind it.
Decorated in a B&B style,(but without the other guests),and has all the extra's and pampering you'd get at a Bed and Breakfast. (breakfast is not included)
The Garden Cottage is more upscale then most homes for rent in this area,and is done in an old farmhouse style inside with boarded walls and high ceilings.
French doors in every room open up to the huge porches with river views.
Tubes are supplied and Kayaks are avilb. in the warmer months. We even have a tube run, slide and rope swing..beach with great swiming area. There is a large flat rock to sit on in middle of river right in front of this cottage, perfect for lounging in the river.
Wildlife comes daily and you can watch the deer and wild turkey in your back yard. ( not to mention Marshmellow the bear, who makes an appearance now and then)
The cottage's land is length-ways on the river so you have over 700'on the river.
Good fishing, bass and trout!
It is also an easy grade to the river, NO steep drops as with many homes in the north Georgia mountains area and our cottages are the cleanest!!

Screened in porch has a large hot tub, iron garden furniture with cushions and pillows, done in old fashioned fabrics.
The Cottage/ cabin rental has lots of antiques.
The bedrooms are done in floral pastels, in greens, yellows and rose colors. Chosen to be romantic and comfortable.
Master has it's own fireplace,upgraded feather padded beds, with feather comforter. French doors that open up to a huge porch (with hammock for 2and sofa), over looking the river. Has a antique oak dresser with mirror;
Also has huge bath with 2 pedestal sinks and shower/tub combo.

The second bedroom has an open beams over head, for a wonderful old fashioned valted ceiling. White iron bed frame(1930's) yellow floral print, French doors that open to a porch over looking the river, and bath also with pedestal sink and tub/shower combo.
Kitchen and living room is accented in blues. Kitchen is large with a breakfast bar and has all that is needed, dishwasher, microwave etc., all cooking supplies.
Dining room has table in white and wood. (Seats 6), with French doors, as does the living room that open to the screened porch with hot tub and old iron garden furniture.. Living room has fireplace with river stone accents, comfy sofa/ chairs and antiques.

Half bath, and full laundry is on this floor.
There are 2TV's, DVD player with newer movies, Showtime and Stars with the satelite TV's, stereo with CD player and remote, gas grille,

Helen, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River, is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. This Northeast Georgia village has a rich history linked to the Cherokee Indians and Indian burial mounds as well as early settlers who arrived to mine for gold and cut virgin timber for a thriving lumber industry in the early 1900's.

Festivals and special events include a hot air balloon race, Winefest, Volksmarch, Oktoberfest and Christmas parades, Fourth of July fireworks, and Bavarian Nights of Summer. From mid-September through October, Helen hosts the longest Oktoberfest in the South. Alpenfest offers entertainment for visitors during the Holiday season from Thanksgiving through December. First the house is a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures really open which is great for socializing and you're not cramped together. Very clean & I know this sounds silly but smelled really fresh & clean. Nancy was great - we asked for a pot to boil peanuts in & she found us one. We didn't get to enjoy the river as much due to such a short visit but it is really pretty and you can hear the water rushing by from the porch. We spent our days at the Hiawassee Fair which was really cheap entertainment. It rained at night & the days were just cool enough to enjoy long sleeves. A really nice fire pit that we couldn't use (but we tried) everything was too wet from the rain. Hope to return for a longer visit next time. Yes, we did see trout though we didn't have time to fish. The dogs loved the big porch and the big back yard. Thanks Nancy for sharing your home with us. Lovely cottage on the river. Very relaxing, well kept, clean, nice owners. We went tubing, roasted marshmallows in the backyard fire pit. Great decks on both levels. We are a family of four with two teenagers. We relaxed, barbecued, and watched some of the movies provided in the cottage. Did not get cell phone service on the property, which was probably a good thing. We drove down the road a bit to get service. Overall very good trip. We would recommend it.
