Hernando Beach - Screened Lanai & Pool - Boat Dock
|Per week:||$1,199 - $1,277|
|Per month:||$3,275 - $3,975|
You are now looking at the best value in Hernando Beach. Compare our home, the features and price you will see it is the best deal going. A perfect place to get away for a week, a month, or several months. All you need to pack are your clothes and personal items (fishing tackle and your boat if you have one).
The kitchen, master bedroom, Dining Area, Screened Lanai & Pool, outdoor entertaining areas, sea wall and dock all offer views of the main channel that leads directly into the Gulf of Mexico. You can enjoy your favorite water sport from your own dock. In the evening and early morning can watch the shrimp boats come and go. Or you can stand in the solar heated pool enjoying your favorite beverage watching the boats leaving for the flats or gulf. Bring your boat and follow them out as you go out to see the beautiful sunset on the Gulf of Mexico. You can charter a fishing boat for guided inshore and offshore adventures from the nearby marina, venture offshore for grouper fishing on a party boat, rent a boat, pontoon boat, jet ski, or kayak locally. You will have a 24 foot floating dock right outside the back door. You can also fish off the dock (all kinds of fish come through the channel with the change of tides), or just relax on the back deck and enjoy the slow pace of Florida living. This place is perfect for the naturalist, birdwatcher, and photographer.
If you enjoy people watching you will enjoy sitting on the outside deck at one of the local restaurants watching the boats, kayaks, canoes, boats, fish and in the winter Manatees going past on the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River while you enjoy lunch, dinner or your favorite beverage. All of this is 10 minutes from your front door.
For a change of pace, there are numerous golf courses nearby, including some championship courses. Two of our local public courses are rated 9th & 48th in the country. With over 20 to choose from you will be busy if you’re a golfer. If you want to visit Florida, especially if you want to escape the long, cold Northern winter - and stay in a countryside, waterfront, but convenient location...this is the place to be.
The home has a premium king size bed in the master bedroom. Each of the two other bedrooms have two premium twin beds. The master bath has both a walk in shower and a oversize soaking tub. The hall bath (between the two smaller bedrooms) has a tub shower. The large laundry room has a washer and dryer. There are two TV's each with a DVD player & VCR. The family room also has a complete stereo with Bose speakers and there is an additional stereo on the lanai for your enjoyment while relaxing in the pool, rear deck or on the covered & screened Lanai.
A popular pastime in the late afternoon is watching the shrimp boats going past the home on their way to work in the Gulf of Mexico. If it is not shrimp boats, or crab boats going past the home there are the local boaters alway something to watch!
The home is located 60+ minutes from Tampa International Airport, and 90+ minutes from Orlando, Disney World, Universal Studios, Wet & Wild, Sea World and Busch Gardens. So you can still "do it all" and have a quiet, clean, comfortable home when it is time to unwind. After all what is a vacation if you don't relax some?

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Hernando Beach, Florida
July 10, 2012
This place was UNBELIEVABLE! The peace and quiet in the evenings...except for watching the shrimp boats go out between 5:30 & 7:30pm...and you could hear them come in at 3:30am...which was neat to watch and drink coffee...Also the pool was magnificent...I am a beach person...there are smaller beaches nearby but we drove to Tampa and Clearwater in which the drive was not that bad...This place had all the comforts of home!!!!!! Once your find your way around...everything is really close by...Walmart, convenient stores...on the weekends the canal is super busy and it was more "FUN" to watch all the boaters and Jet ski's go by then going to the beach! Also the owner, our sea captiain for a day, John, was absolutely wonderful. We arriveded late but had his cell and home number to reach him and he was very helpful and thorough. We would lvoe to stay here again and would love to move here...if you dont have a GPS it is hard to find, but it is one of the BEST HIDDEN PLACES TO STAY!
Great Vacation Getaway!

We chose this home over many others in the area for our vacation this year and we were very happy and satisfied. The house has a good floor plan and worked out well for our family. The owner is very accommodating and stocked the house with every convenience. If you forgot it, it's probably already there. We lived in the outdoor area with the pool and lots of covered seating. It was fun to watch the shrimp boats and other leisure craft come through on their way out to the Gulf. We fished and crabbed off the dock. The house is centrally located for local attractions and those in Tampa and Orlando. Would highly recommend this house for rental. You would be hard pressed to find a comparable for the money.

This house was our home during vacation. We carefully looked EVERYWHERE before deciding and we are very satisfied. The owner made sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. A good man. Save yourself time, effort, and money. You will not find a better place for the price

We recently stayed in this rental while in Florida and were extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the property. Everything was there for us. The only things we had to purchase were groceries and fishing bait. Loved sitting outside in the morning having coffee and watching the shrimp boats come in from the ocean. Quiet & Relaxing. . . Will definately recommend it to our friends and family!!

We rented this house between Christmas and the New Year and were VERY happy. The house is clean, functional and spacious. The pool is nice and has a great view over the canals. The home is a short distance from the Gulf and all the nature parks. Shopping is close by ... and also the Mermaids show! The owners are very helpful and friendly and good people.
Wow! This is a great place to relax, unwind, and kick back. If you are into the "action" of a city, the hustle and all that this is not your place. This home is just that, a home...clean, well set up for you to enjoy.... the water is the key, shrimp boats and most of the other boat traffic go past the home. From the pool or the Lanai.......you have a front row seat. Weeki Wachee river is less than 5-minutes, the famous Pine Island is about 15-minutes. Don't feel in the middle of no where....you are but all you need is less than 10-minutes... Super Walmart, Publix, Target, etc.
This is, no joke a deal....... Hernando Beach is wonderful, quiet, peaceful, calm and laid back......this house has vacation all over it.

This is the first time we had ever rented a house to stay in while on vacation (we always stayed in hotels) and I have to say that out of all the choices/options we were very very lucky at what we chose. A week is not enough time to spend here. Our kids loved fishing off the dock while watching the porpoise and stingray swim past. The setting is ideal for a real vacation away from the hustle and bustle of your typical spring break chaos. The owner was more than helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had a good time and everything we needed. We miss being there already and can't wait to come back! =)
Frequently Asked Questions
I was told this occurred during the 1950’s; please correct me if you have the real history. The way the story was conveyed to me: Mr. Sasser’s company had the contract to provide the lime rock (road base in this area) when the expanded US 19 in the area from 2-lanes to 4-lanes.
The way the story goes when his drag lines (big excavator type machines) were not digging lime rock for the road expansion they were in the marsh making Hernando Beach. If look at an on line maps and look at the satellite view of the area you will see large “lakes”, that were lime rock pits just east of Hernando Beach. After the work was done, the pits were dug, etc. Some how the land east of Hernando Beach ended up a state park (don’t know that history… if you do please fill it in).
The nice part, we are surrounded by a park; nothing will be built east of Hernando Beach for miles. We have a wonderful slice of the Gulf Coast and have the best of both worlds. If we want to go into civilization (I will call our Super Wal-Mart that) we can be there in 10-minutes. But unless you live here, are a boater the uses our boat ramps, like our wonderful restaurants, out for a drive or are lost we don’t have to deal with the traffic and other negative things about the communities near Hernando Beach.
I have lived and worked all over the world. If you like relaxed, salt water, slow paced life and no pressure to do anything you don’t’ want to do, you are going to want to stay here….. Don’t cut your grass every week, who cares! Park your boat trailer in your driveway, who cares! When the crime report comes out weekly in the paper, it is rare anything happens to make the paper…. We are lucky, we have several Sheriff’s deputy’s that live in the area, the bad guys may be dumb, but they are smart enough to not do stupid stuff where the law lives. Add to that the people here are good people, honest, hard working and that make all the difference in the world.
