There is no other country like Israel in the whole world – holy to the three monotheistic religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam, it has an amazing history intertwined with a fascinating future. Archaeological sites with findings thousands of years old are a short distance from hi-tech centers, bustling cities and golden beaches. A land of contrasts –desert in the south, sub-tropical climate along the Jordan valley, and cool pine trees on the north mountains, all with 9 months of uninterrupted sunshine and about 3 months of mild rainy winter.



Jerusalem was declared the capital of Israel already in the days of King David, and has been the center of Jewish religious life ever since. It is now holy to Christians and Moslems too, who come here to feel its special atmosphere and walk in the trail of their holy leaders.



But is it Tel Aviv that Israelis call “the non-stop city”. Lying on the beautiful shore of the Mediterranean it is the business and cultural center of Israel. Theatres, cinema, museums, coffee shops, restaurants that cater to every taste, night clubs and discotheques – all these have well earned Tel Aviv its place as the queen of night-life.



North of Tel Aviv we have Haifa, the beautiful city on the slopes of Mount Carmel with its special beaches and beautiful Bahaii temple and its Gardens (a world–heritage site). On top of the Carmel mountain there are Exotic Druze villages with a beautiful oriental bazaar and restaurants serving the local delicacies.



The north area is famous for its religious pilgrimage attractions such as the River Jordan and the Sea of Galilee. The beautiful views of the Galilee Mountains, the pleasant weather and plenty of outdoors activities make it a favourite place for a bed-and-breakfast weekend getaway.



The south is a beautiful desert area, but it has more than enough to keep it fresh and fascinating. Eilat (the southernmost city), on the shores of the Red Sea is an international multi-lingual city which attracts tourists from all over the world. Sunny weather all year-round, a very active marine life amongst the corals of the

bay and the famous marine museum attract both locals and tourists to the many hotels in the city.



Herzliya is located in the center of it all. About 7 km. north of Tel Aviv it is on the main Haifa-Tel Aviv road and about 60 km. from Jerusalem. Herzliya Pituach is the posh neighborhood of the city. It has an exclusive residential area (favoured by the rich and famous), an important hi-tech center, a beautiful marina with an adjacent large shopping center, and quite a few hotels along the golden shores.
