Description of the Hilo vacation guesthouse rental

This spacious and colorful Guesthouse is the Ohana (or second home) on our small farm near Hilo. It is comprised of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living and dining areas, two covered lanais, a washer and dryer, and is beautifully furnished and equipped with plenty of options for a large or extended family (sleeps up to 8): for $125 per night. Alternatively, it can be divided into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage ($85 per night), and a 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite ($65 per night). We raise chickens, a variety of tropical fruits, and coffee, and are happy to share the eggs, fruit and coffee samples with our guests.

Our Guesthouse is located a short and easy drive approximately 15 minutes south of the Hilo airport in the Puna district of the island of Hawai'i, and consists of approximately two acres and includes a large and varied collection of tropical flora and many large Ohia trees that characterize the Big Island. At less than a half mile from highway 130, you have easy access to many of the attractions the Big Island has to offer, from snorkeling at the Kapoho tide pools and swimming at the Ahalanui Hot Pond, to stunning views of the active vent of Kilaeau volcano, a visit to Volcano National Park, and the lovely lagoons, beaches and waterfalls in or near Hilo. There are also excellent dining possibilities in Pahoa, Kea'au, and Volcano villages, as well as in Hilo. There are also several options for easily exploring the entire island in day trips from the guesthouse.

• Deposits: A $200 security deposit is due two weeks prior to arrival to hold the reservation, and is refundable upon check-out. The full rental amount is due upon arrival.
   
• Other Fees: The average $85 rate listed is for the 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage. The entire 3 bedroom 2 bath home rental fees are: $125 per night, $725 per week, and $2,000 per month. The one bedroom suite rental rate is: $65 per night, $350 per week, and $1,000 per month.
