Maximize your Big Island experience from your own spacious sanctuary of privacy, peace and luxury: Hale Mar is a 3+ bedroom, absolute oceanfront home on a private 1/2 acre property in a quiet rural area, with 100' of direct sea frontage, your own 38' lap pool and hot tub by the sea and under the stars, and all the amenities to provide you with a pampered and relaxing long or short term stay in paradise.

Bedroom layout:
1 gigantic master bedroom with romantic canopied king-size platform bed, from which you can see the whales, dolphins and turtles frolicking in the ocean, and its own private balcony overlooking the ocean, en-suite bathroom with tiled, 2-seat shower, walk in closet, plus a small futon for lounging on in front of the big color TV, if you get tired of looking at the ocean!
1 medium sized bedroom decorated in white and green "Key West" style, with a double bed and its own sliding-door access to the pool, hot tub, and ocean;
1 small bedroom decorated in the warm colors of old Hawaii with its own private patio seating area, also with access to the pool and hot tub;
1 extra room configured as an office which can also be set up as an extra bedroom with the folding cot and air mattress we provide.

A: Hale Mar is ideally located in the nicest oceanfront neighborhood closest to Volcano National Park! You get the best of both worlds - a warm, tropical ocean front vacation, with convenience to unique and spectacular adventures.
Q: Do you provide pots and pans, sheets and towels, etc?
A: Hale Mar is fully equipped to make your vacation simple and stress free: fully equipped kitchen, full laundry room, big assortment of towels and bed linens. We even provide salt & pepper in the kitchen, and shampoo & conditioner in the showers!
Q: Can we give a party or wedding at Hale Mar?
A: Sorry, due to neighborhood restrictions, we don't permit parties or weddings at Hale Mar. But we welcome you to come stay for your honeymoon!
Q: Doesn't it rain a lot in the Hilo area?
A: Hilo has the reputation for being rainy because it's located in a valley that traps the clouds, but Hale Mar is located on the Puna peninsula about 15 miles south of Hilo, and has a very different climate - lots of sunshine and clear skies most of the day.
