Gardens have beautiful oak trees towering over our buildings with 3 gas barbeques areas with separate cooking and sitting areas with swings and seats, flowers planted in abundance. This is a private park at the end of a road with few homes; 200 steps (or 3 minute walk through 6th row homes worth millions of dollars) from North Forest beach side. This is not a parking lot with everything squeezed together,this is a botonical park. Ample parking areas allows you to open your car doors without the worry of smacking your neighbors car. We have unused acreage set aside for a nature area.
Shipyard Plantation is a shared community with lakes and miles of bike paths to enjoy. Shipyard's community beach with showers and convience rooms or our private access to beach ocean 3 minute walk. Fish Eagles nest within our commuity of Shipyard Plantation. Nobody is allowed to speed through our plantation too many people walking and biking. We have an active guard patrol with two guard stations attended 24/7.
Area Information
A luxury 5 crown hotel is the only commercial activity within the shipyard community and it offers fine dining and workout facilities. You may drop in for drinks and dining 5 star or order at the pool for drinks. You can pay to use the workout facilities at a very reasonable weekly rate for a family fee or individual (children's meals last priced at $4.50 for take home so relax and take out, I enjoy these). Food network did a show on Hilton Head Island you may to look the episode up.
A private tennis club a 10 minute walk offers tennis lessons and is rated with in the top 20 teaching clubs in the country for teaching tennis. If you play tennis and want to pick up your game, now the time to do it.
There is a private community beach for socializing or a private entrance to the ocean for peace and quiet. You will walk 200 steps through a million dollar neighborhood to enter 12 miles of beach or take your bike (Ride on hard pack sand at low tide or high tide for 12 miles). The entire island is pest controlled so protect your self from biting bugs but I have never been bothered by them. Drinking alcohol on the beach is prohibited so don't worry about that problem (be discreet). Beach attire cannot be too scanty so don't worry about that problem either (be discreet). You may bump into a couple in love dressed for and in the process of being married on the beach, just smile.
90 minutes to Charleston or 30 minutes to Savannah either city brings you to the larger scene of history, jazz and great cuisine and more site seeing than needed.
The Atlantic Ocean is available to charter boats for day/nite dining to deep sea fishing or dining in the finest of restaurants. We have a marshland for canoeing, nature tours and some nice calm water fishing.

Hilton Head Shipyard Plantation/Brigantine Quarter

Excellent family friendly vacation spot. My family and I stayed at the Shipyard Plantation/Brigantine Quarters Condo 262. Everything was new in the condo. Vaulted ceilings and lots of room. The master bedroom and master bath was the highlight of the condo. Everyone wanted to take a shower in the master bath. There is a seperate bedroom with two single beds and another bathroom, dining room, and living room. The kitchen, dining, and living room is all one big room with vaulted ceilings. There is a queen sized pull out bed in living room couch. The kitchen has all of the utensils you will need. We even had a blender if we needed it. We had two pools/1 heated, tennis courts, propane grills, bike paths, private balcony, private beach access, and a view of one of the local crocs swimming in the lagoon. This private plantation is great. They have a private gate for the beach with key access that is only 2 blocks walk down Ibis Lane. I recommend renting or taking your bicycles to the island. You can access everything rather quickly with the bike. We were at Coligny Plaza within 9 minutes on the bike trail from Brigantine. We will be booking this condo again when we return. I hope this helps.

This is a wonderful place to vacation that is close to the beach, two swimming pools, dining, and shopping. The different birds and wildlife that you can see from the lagoon is amazing. It is also a great place to vacation if you have young children. Our two year old had the time of her life with so much to see and explore! The beach is not too crowded, and the gated community is very quiet and peaceful. There are bike trails surrounding the community that are lined with beautiful old southern oak trees and palm trees. Everyone we met was very friendly - true southern hospitality. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Robert and Ann for renting your vacation home to us!!

Everything worked out perfect from the very beginning. Owners were wonderful, administration matters were very easy and professionally handled and on top of all, the place is amazing. Very clean, comfortable and extremely well located. We could see the alligators swimming in the lake every afternoon from the window of the living room!! and literally walk less than 5 minutes to a beautiful uncrowded beach. You also have access to the Shipyard Beach Club which is also very nice, more crowded, and within walking distance as well. Pictures do not show how nice the place is. We were surprised and very happy to rent this property. Thanks Bob and Ann!!
