wonderful cottage in perfect location

A truly wonderful cottage in a perfect location. Right at the beach and with a big garden with BBQ. The area is quite and Hindang is a nice town with very friendly people. The caretakers are very friendly and taking good care of the property and their guests. I highly recommend this cottage for couples or families who are looking for a quite vacation spot in Leyte.

Tranquil, exclusive getaway

City dwelling for almost 20 years with hardly enough time to slow down has left my soul weary. That’s why during school breaks, my family is always on a look out for some beautiful, relaxing ambiance to unwind and perhaps to perk up our sluggish existence. Summer of 2012, the family headed off to Leyte and stayed in this quaint little cottage by the sea. It is situated in a small fishing village where life is very simple and modest. The resort was private, clean and cozy - a pleasant, comfortable place for a far-off getaway. Great solitude for families, friends and honeymooners. The cottage was all to ourselves, just perfect for quiet living where serenity is a bliss! I woke up happy and relaxed with the first rays of the sun casting colors at the expanse of the sea … barbecuing by the beach while relishing the picturesque setting sun…gazing at the flickering, distant fishermen’s lights … savoring the coolness of the night’s sea breeze …soft splashing of the waves making melodies of peace lulled me to sleep. It was truly a delightful experience! There’s no better place in this part of Leyte to rest one’s thoughts. My family is eagerly looking forward to this tranquil, exclusive getaway next summer :)))

Many improvements!

This was our third stay in Kayla Cottage and we were very happy with the many improvements that have been made and detailed by the owners at the foot of this page, the mosquito screens on all the windows are particularly welcome! The locals were as friendly as ever and we had a very relaxing stay which included celebrating our wedding anniversary with a large lechon in the garden! We look forward to our next visit.

Cozy Accomodation & Warm and Friendly Staff

The capiz and bamboo mat design of the cottage was unique and provided an exotic ambience, water supply, air-conditioning, dining and kitchen equipments were adequate, Mang Nanding & Ate Lina were very helpful, reliable and ensure our safety at all times. Mosquitoes were common guests but the full blast of the air-conditioning kept them away a bit from the bedroom during bedtime & OFF lotion was handy to keep them away as well. For the purpose of my vacation with my brother and cousin to visit relatives in Leyte, Kayla Resort was a perfect choice!!! Thanks for the hospitality of Mang Nanding and Ate Lina,...Salamat po!

Quiet away from it all charming cottage.

This is the place for that relaxing away from it all vacation. The cottage is well equipped, spacious and altogether rather charming. The caretakers Nanding and Lina are very hospitable, anxious to be of assistance and invaluable sources of information of the surrounding area. They really do go the extra mile to ensure guests have a really enjoyable Philippines rural experience. The locals are very friendly. Local travel easy and inexpensive.

the house is fine, garden lovely and it's right beside the ocean. Cable tv AC in the bedroom fans in the living room. Most of the people in the city were friendly. basics provided by the little stores near by groceries at the market 6 blocks away entertainment in other cities up to 40 minutes away.get home early no taxies no scheduels. Overall, we were very pleased for the amount we paid.The area is very rural and no air pollution. I loved watching the passersby and they loved talking to us. They were very friendly and you know they were curious of who we were and where we came from.At any rate, I will stay there again should we decide to come back to Hindang.The only we did not have is water heater in our shower. It was broken and the caretaker says needs replacement or repair. We did not have warm shower in the duration of our stay.

My family was in the philippines due to family business. However, we had a few days to relax before heading back to Cebu and Manila. The cottage was very comfortable. Since we are used to have airconditioning in the US, it was great that we had great working AC in the bedroom. The cottage was very spacious to accomadate a family. The place was also clean. The place was complete with a refrigirator stove cooking utensils and everyting else you need in a house. The outside had a garden that was so cute. The best way for me to describe the place is that it had a homy feeling and relaxing. There was a motorcycle to rent for 200 pesos a day unfortunately I don't know how to drive one. Also the market was in walking distance if you needed anything to buy and can hire someone to cook for you. But we did not need these services because we had relatives in the next town and we were expected to eat there. I have so much more to say but not enought space here to write them. Back 2010.

Quiet pleace to stay

We stayed in the cottage from half januari untill half march. Quiet place to stay, fine neighbours, only 5 min. from the proper town Hindang and his market. You find on this market all your western needs from bread to fish, meat, butter etc. On the market you find also internetcafe. From Hindang is easy with the public transport to go to the big towns like Maassin, Baybay, Ormoc, Hilongos, Bato, etc. The housekeeper, Nanding, is very provided about his guests and speaks fluent Englisch. At 4km you find a diving center who can bring you to the 4 islands for snorkeling or diving, but best you make arrangements before your staying (Naval Diving base). Daily excursions by walking are great and you can spend whole day's to explore the surroundings (ex. Bontoc caves). Great place to stay! We will for sure go back.

- ceiling fans and screen on windows and doors to solve the mosquito problem.
