Derwent Hideaway is a fully furnished 1950's self contained villa dominated by two huge historic oaks trees that also has absolute waterfront to the Derwent river at 4 Harbinger Lane, Austins Ferry near Hobart in southern Tasmania.

Derwent Hideway sleeps up to 9 adults in 3 bedrooms. The configuration is a queen with ensuite, double, two singles in the third bedroom. The two extra beds are a sofa bed and a day bed in the living room. It has a modern fully equipped kitchen with microwave, hotplates, stove and fridge. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer.

Dine inside or outside on the verandah with fully equiped BBQ. Watch videos or DVD's at night. Wireless Broadband and a computer are provided for Internet access.

Derwent Hideaway is a fully furnished 1950's self contained villa at 4 Harbinger Lane, Austins Ferry at the gateway to the beautiful Derwent Valley and 15 minutes from the Hobart CBD in southern Tasmania.

Derwent Hideaway is by the water at Austins Ferry and is located 15 minutes north of the Hobart CBD. It is only a short drive from the Brooker Highway and to get there you actually drive through historic James Austin Park where the first ferry in Tasmania was located.

The property is an ideal Hobart base for business or pleasure as it is close to major business and tourist attractions including Cadburys, Moorilla, Richmond, Alpenrail, Bonorong Wildlife Park, Richmond, Salmon ponds and the beautiful Derwent valley. Public transport is easily accessed and shops are less than half a kilometre away. A Woolworths-Safeway Shopping Centre is one kilometre away.

There is a large garden dominated by two historic oaks planted by Lady Franklin and a great outdoor area for relaxation. Within two km are golf and bowls clubs. If you bring a bike you can use it! The Derwent provides opportunities for white water canoeing or jetboating further upstream at the historic town of New Norfolk or enjoy a more relaxing time playing golf or bowling at local clubs.
Tasmania is endowed with every activity possible from jetboating to skiing, from mountain climbing to some of the best walking in the world. Snorkelling or surfing, fishing or just snoozing on a beach are all within an hour or so of Derwent Hideaway. For those who like dining, nightclubing or gambling, Hobart and Salamanca are just a 15 minute drive away and Australia's first licensed casino, Wrest Point is just a 20 minute drive away.
Salamanca market is a must on Saturday and Moorilla winery is very close to spend the afternoon listening to jazz and tasting their wares. Book a tour of the Cadbury chocolate factory and indulge in chocolates, visit Alpenrail, Moorilla or Bonorong Wildlife park. All are within easy reach of Derwent Hideaway.
