Description of the Holderness vacation cabin rental

Beautifully situated on 600 feet of Squam shorefront, this property has character and charm. The property offers a 100 ft sandy beach, swim raft, Charcoal BBQ grills, picnic tables, a small swing set, and a cozy beach side fire pit. Taking a stroll along the shore of Squam Lake can bring you back to a simpler place in time. When filmmakers were searching for a place to film the movie on "Golden Pond", the search ended with the tranquility of Squam Lake. Unique and charming Boulders offers a unit type to suit all needs. All units are direct lakefront! We have 14 standard motel rooms, 4 two bedroom efficiency units, a one bedroom efficiency, along with three cottages. All motel rooms offer bathroom, mini fridge and a screened in porch overlooking "Golden Pond" you have a choice of a single Queen bed or two double beds. Two efficiency units offer two bedrooms (double bed in each) kitchen, living room, bathroom and our famous screened porch. Our two, two bedroom knotty pine decorated cottages offer full kitchens, living room, bathroom, and screened porch. Our one bedroom cottage offers two double beds in a single room, a large living room, full dine in kitchen complete with corner hutch, and let's not forget the signature screened porch! Plan your family reunion or a romantic getaway for an anniversary or a special birthday celebration. We guarantee Boulders will make you long for a yearly visit!

Area Information

Holderness NH is a quaint town where everyone knows everyone and welcomes anyone! In Holderness, you are a stranger but once. Walter's Basin is a beautiful lakefront dining experience you will not soon forget. The library is as home town as you can find. The Holderness Country Store is a unique experience, plan an hour to hang out, visiting and exploring their eclectic inventory, from wine and cheese to fresh seafood. The Squam Lake Science Center is a splendid way to spend the day. A wonderful nature walk with hands on exploration opportunities. Rattlesnake Mountain is a great way to spend the day, pack a picnic lunch. A gentle family hike will bring you to the top of Squam! The views are breathtaking! Plan a couple of hours for this hike for as you reach the top, you will want extra time to just lounge and experience the beauty.

Comfy, spacious, unpretentious - loved it!

After reading a few bad reviews before the trip I was nervous. However, upon arrival I realized those bad reviews were unfounded. Gail, the manager, was so AHmazing!! She put up with my frequent questions beforehand and embraced us with open arms once we arrived - she even led us to the grocery store. We stayed in a 2 bedroom efficiency - a full bed in each room, a bathroom in each room, a living/kitchen area with a pull out couch and a screened in porch with a picnic table and clothes line! Our room had a new fridge installed the day we arrived, fresh towels were laid out and someone came in to make the beds while we were at the lake. We used just about every water vehicle available - canoe, row boat, paddle boat. The view from the lake was fantastic! We had everything we could possibly need including a warm rapport with the other guests and a 24 hour convenience store up the road. We have already planned to return next year - same time, same place!! And to put things in perspective there were 4 of us - 20something college graduates from Boston and NYC. We love Holderness, Boulder Motel and Gail!

Very charming place to stay!

The Boulders struck me as a warm place, the decor is the rustic camp feel. Very clean and the staff friendly. I truly enjoyed the fire at night and the cry of the loon during the day. If you are looking for a spot to relax, this property is the place, I have found no place better than the large hammock at waters edge to take my afternoon nap. I can not wait to return in 2009. Thank you for the hospitality.
