Homer and the surrounding Kenai Peninsula offer tourist activities for all throughout the seasons. Plan to stay awhile and enjoy Homers famous halibut or salmon fishing, whale watching, bear viewing, sea kayaking, horseback riding, glacier and flightseeing tours. Take a boat trip across Kachemak Bay to the quaint villages of Seldovia or Halibut Cove, or simply stroll the streets of downtown Homer where you will find restaurants, art galleries, the Pratt Museum, and many other Homer attractions. Wildflowers and berries abound for the hikers, and birders flock in droves for Homers annual spring Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival.
