Description of the Hopetown vacation home rental

Wraparound decks on two floors surround this amazing home with views of the ocean, Tilloo cut, and the Sea of Abaco.
At night the fresnel lens of the candy stripe lighthouse winks its romance. Master sleep (2), King Bed. Flip-flop room sleeps (2) in Gueen Bed. Surfer bedroom sleeps (2) in twin beds. Internet, Cable TV, and stereo, full kitchen, BBQ Grill on rear deck. The yard is awash with butterflies and hummingbirds, and the coffee porch is not to be missed. A short walk down the hill is fabulous Tahiti Beach, and your private dock for boat up to 30 feet. Nearby, Garbonzo Reef on the oceanside awaits the surfer. Transportation on the island is by rental golfcart, or rental boat, with restaurants vehicles to transport you to and from the best dining, just minutes away.

Deep Sea charters, Scuba Trips, and a wonderful shopping experience await you in Hopetown, just a short golfcart ride away. Climb to the top of Hopetown Lighthouse, over 130 years old. Area Information

Elbow Cay, Hopetown, is the central island of the Sea of Abaco, in the Northeastern corner of the Bahamas. It most resembles Bermuda in scenery and charm. Each neighboring island is different and unique, but only on Elbow Cay will you find soap box derbies, golf cart roads from end to end, and an abundance of wonderful restaurants. Elbow Cay is 6 plus miles in length, a half mile or so wide, and at its North end nestles the town of Hopetown, tracing its heritage to Colonial days, with many quaint streets and shops. Ferries to nearby islands including Marsh Harbor arrive and depart hourly from two government docks. On the South end of Elbow Cay lies Tahiti Beach, perhaps the most beautiful beach in the Bahamas, with shallow safe swimming or snorkelling, and shelling galore. The East side of Elbow Cay boasts several surfing beaches, and restaurants placed the hilltops for your dining experience. Elbow Cay is bordered by Man-O-War Cay to the North, Lubbers Quarters to the West, and Tilloo to the South. It is a 20 minute ferry ride from Marsh Harbor. Four grocery stores and two liquor stores are conveniently located on Elbow Cay. There are coffee shops, ice cream stores, four churches, and numerous activities.

Lodging tax: 10%
Deposits: A deposit of 50% reserves your week in paradise (deposit is non-refundable if you cancel within 30 days of reserved date and we cannot re-book the home for those dates). 30 days before your vacation begins, payment in full is expected. You will be met at the dock by the caretaker and driven to Tahiti Hai, and returned to the ferry dock at the end of your stay. Off-season rates may apply to your choice of dates, usually August through February.
Payment Options: Cashier's Check, Money Order
Other Fees: Transportation to Marsh Harbor may be arranged through your agent, Continental, BahamasAir, American, or several other airlines. Passports are required. A short taxi ride to the ferry dock, a short ferry ride to Hopetown, and you will be met by a Tahiti Hai caretaker. You may prearrange a rental boat, or a golf cart, through several rental agencies, and we can help you with these arrangements. Your golf cart will be delivered to Tahiti Hai, and picked up at the end of your stay.

Perfect Spot on Elbow Cay

This is the perfect 2 bed 2 bath home base to explore and relax on Elbow Cay. It is not a new huge brightly colored home that have popped up on the island in the last decade or so. So if that is important to you look elswhere. But, if you want a fun home with a dock, a private 2 level beach with shallow water to swim in with lots of sting rays, fish and starfish this is the place. It is a great home for families with kids of all ages, but is especially good for small children (2-5). The place comfortably would sleep 5 adults. The views of the Sea of Abaco from the large deck are insane. The house is well stocked with cooking items and spices. The Direct TV was nice. We did find some fishing poles but they were not advertised with the house so ask about them so you can fish from the dock. It is also really, and i mean really close to Tahiti beach. Cracker P's is a almost a straight shot across on Lubbers. The place is about a 15 minute golf cart ride to Hopetown. Short ride to Sea Spray Marina and Abaco Inn. the food at Sea Spray is pretty good and the Abaco Inn has a nice bar and the food has really improved since my last visit. They hooked us up with a boat rental company and also rented the golf cart for us which was nice. Had an 18 foot Albury boat, which for 4 was the perfect size for getting out on the Sea of Abaco and crusing around.

Tahiti Hai vacation!

We were very comfortable at this property and would definitely come back some day. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped with appliances, utensils, space, and even the zip lock bags and paper towels. The rap around porches on both levels are well maintained and functional. The upstairs 360 degree observation deck is one of the highest points on the island and allows extremely awesome views morning and evening.
