Description of the Howell vacation cottage rental

"Sleepy Hollow", our family cottage on 313 acre Lake Chemung provides the perfect lake getaway. Convenient to Detroit, Ann Arbor and Lansing.

Beautiful sandy beach. Watch the sun set from the dock or from the master suite perched overlooking the expansive yard and lake. Private Deck located off kitchen is perfect for reading the paper at breakfast.

New interior finishes, new furnishings and appliances, hardwood floors, cozy Swedish pine paneling, completely outfitted for your vacation. Sleeps eight comfortably on 2 queen beds one double bed and two singles. Airbed also available. Bring your towels, bathing suits and water toys (and snow toys in winter) and relax

This sunny 1,900 square foot home is tucked away on an idyllic, private road on the quiet, sunny side of the spring-fed lake. Parking is limited; no on-road parking is possible.

Area Information

Lake Chemung is nestled Howell and Brighton, Michigan, west of Detroit, east of Lansing, north of Ann Arbor. Great for family reunions, corporate or university visitors, or just a great vacation.

Shopping nearby includes antique malls and shops in historic Howell Michigan, Brighton and Milford. There are several excellent golf courses nearby as well as farmers markets. Excellent country roads for biking.

Important architectural landmarks nearby include works by Saarinen, Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer as well as historic early skyscrapers in burgeoning downtown Detroit.

Museums nearby include Greenfield Village, Cranbrook Art Museum, DIA and others. Grand Rapids Art Museum is definitely worth a day trip.
