I've stayed at Dan's house long-term for business reasons for a few months. Dan's house is definately my "home away from home!". It is a very comfortable house with everything you need. Dan keeps the house fully stocked. The view is amazing, the property is very private and hidden, you can't even see the house from the road which is also on a dead-in road so there are no cars driving by. House is pet friendly and a paradise for your dog! Can't beat the pool and the view from of the River. I must also state that Dan is an excellent host, always available and just plain awesome!! Thanks for everything Dan!! We'll definately stay again whenever in the area.

Beautiful home and countryside. From initial contact to actual departure Joana was accessible and prompt with answers to our questions. She even made trips to surrounding communities to find resources for our special needs child. The home was beautiful and spotless and in full working order... we had no need of anything while we were there. From the service we got from Joana, to the beautiful home and breathtaking view of the Hudson Valley to it's proximity to places like West Point and NYC we would CERTAINLY recommend this home to our family and friends!!!!

Nature Getaway from Manhattan

“ Excellent ”
November 9, 2014
We had a group of 9 that wanted to get out of the city and into nature and this was the perfect spot. We rented cars and a few people took Metro North up and it was very convenient. We spent the day on the Walkway over the Hudson and the rail trail nearby. It was a fun day before enjoying the fire, comfy home and meal from the grill. There was plenty of space to be together and play board games and relax. We highly recommend for a big group. The home was bright, clean, had all basic needs as well as wifi and tv. The fireplace (with firewood from a very nice neighbor) was relaxing and comforting, but there were plenty of heaters for all the rooms and rest of the house was toasty warm. It was also convenient to have a grocery store and shops within a 15 minute drive. Thanks for the great place for a getaway and wish we could have stayed longer to explore more.

Stunning home

“ Excellent ”
May 24, 2014
I stayed with my family, 7 adults, for four days and three nights over Mother's Day. From start to finish, our experience was outstanding. Amelia, the owner, is responsive and patient with all questions. The house itself is gorgeous, and clearly well planned. It seemed that every detail was tended to, from small trays on the bathroom sink for earrings, etc., to a diverse selection of CDs, books and DVDs. . Upon walking into the house you immediately get a warm and welcoming sensation that remains with you through your stay. The property is more wooded than I expected but there are still paths to walk and explore. For those in search of activities such as winery tours, antiquing, etc., rest assured that almost anything you'd like to do is a short, scenic drive away. In short, I would highly recommend.

Visiting the Hudson Valley Region

When it comes to vacation rentals, the Hudson Valley has an exciting array of locales offered by owner to rent online. Rich with heritage and natural wonder, there is something to please every member of the family. Nestled in Eastern New York, Hudson Valley rentals provide the best of both rural and city life.
Areas within the Hudson Valley
The region is split into upper, middle and lower parts; all are ideal for Hudson Valley vacation rentals. The upper region features Albany, capital of NY and is a mecca for art and festivities. Hudson Valley house rentals are beautiful in the capital district. Mid-Hudson Valley has a rural appeal with farms and outdoor adventures. It is also home to the military base West Point. There is more hustle and bustle in the lower region as it approaches NYC. With just around three hours by car spanning the region, all Hudson Valley rentals are in an ideal location.
Sightseeing & Things to Do in the Hudson Valley
The Hudson Valley is brimming with splendid sights and things to do. History buffs would love to tour Kykuit, the hilltop utopia of the Rockefellers. Another must-visit is the New York State Museum, the oldest and largest state museum in the country. It exhibits a thriving record of New York’s natural and cultural roots.
Hudson Valley cabin rentals are ideal for the outdoorsy type. Hikers and skiers relish the breathtaking Catskill Mountains. Within these mountains is Kaaterskill Falls, the largest two-tier waterfall in New York. Cherished for its raw beauty and striking height, visitors are in for an unforgettable experience as they hike to a vast swimming hole beneath the majestic falls. Boat cruises, kayaking, fishing and white water rafting reel in aquatic fans.
Classic art lovers can admire the sights that inspired the great Hudson River School artists. Modern enthusiasts can explore the contemporary sculpture of the open-air museum Storm King Arts Center. For live performance, the Palace Theatre of Albany holds a captive audience with world-class musical and acting talent.
Children will be happy too; the Hudson Valley features attractions such as the Playland Amusement Park and the Mid-Hudson Children's Museum.
Regional Food and Dining in the Hudson Valley
As the first wine producing region of the US, the Hudson Valley's bounty of vineyards is sure to entertain the palette. Foodies will rejoice; it is home to the Culinary Institute of America and world-renowned chefs. Rolling lands and hardworking farmers make fresh, gourmet fare a certainty throughout the region. Apple-picking in the fall invites families to revel in a cherished New York tradition.
Hudson Valley Weather/Climate
The Hudson Valley Region experiences a cold, snowy winter season. During the winter months, skiing and snowboarding are popular activities. Hudson Valley summer rentals are delightful for anyone that enjoys the outdoors. The region is perfect for hiking, swimming, boat cruises and so much more. The Hudson Valley is famous for its natural beauty all year round.
When to Visit the Hudson Valley
Anytime is an ideal time to visit the Hudson Valley. The region is home to hundreds of fairs, festivals and cultural celebrations year round. For a much celebrated splash of spring, Albany's annual Tulip Festival is sure to please. The festival’s main attractions feature over 100,000 blossoms, the Tulip Queen Coronation and the Royal Tulip Ball. Hudson Valley vacation rentals are an excellent choice for any family that loves nature, culture, history and good food.
