Not safe or secure - WE WERE ROBBED!

August 28, 2014

We rented the property June 21st - June 29th, 2014. We chose this location because we believed the description of the property, particularly the part about it being secure: The description says; “This brand new elegant beach property located in a peaceful, romantic area which is guarded comes with fully furnished, fully equipped kitchen, and is fully air conditioned, just 89 steps away from the beach. Also has marble floors and brand new furniture. Has huge swimming pool and Jacuzzi located in a private backyard located in safe family, guarded neighborhood with private gated access.” This home is not safe or guarded. WE WERE ROBBED! A thief entered the home at least twice during our vacation. One intrusion was caught on video surveillance. Mr. Palma was quite uncooperative with the investigation, refusing to provide a copy of the video surveillance to law enforcement. Mr. Palma repeatedly referred to the robbery as “alleged,” despite VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE INTRUDER. Mr. Palma came to the house the evening of the theft and as he was trying to navigate the video footage offered to call the police from his cell phone. Twice. The police never arrived and Mr. Palma told us it was because all of the police in Puerto Rico were on strike. He assured us he would continue to call and that an officer would come to take a report. That was Wednesday. On Friday I finally called the police department myself, and officers were at the house within minutes. All calls to the department are logged and we were informed that Mr. Palma NEVER called the police on Wednesday, or any other day for that matter. Upon confrontation Mr. Palma admitted he’d never called the Humacao police, that he called a “police friend” of his instead. Mr. Palma was barely able to operate his own video equipment, and we were only able to view one and a half days of footage despite Mr. Palma’s claim that the memory held 14 days of footage (I was sure the intruder had been in the house before). There were no signs of forced entry, Mr. Palma says he is the only one with keys. I personally locked the back door and my husband locked the front door prior to our departures – draw whatever conclusions of owner involvement you want from that. Mr. Palma also made a comment to me after the robbery when inquiring how much it would cost to make this go away, “…unfortunately I am not in the same economic situation that you are.” What is that supposed to mean? How

Awesome Villa!!!

July 15, 2014

The place was very spacious and clean. Everyone had their own bedroom and private bathroom and outdoor space! Pool was across the street from us and the beach very close by. It was peaceful and it was stocked with everything needed--we only had to run to the grocery store near by. Highly recommended!

Owner's reply:

Thank you for staying with us. We try our hardest to make everything the way it should be. We look forward to seeing you again soon!!

Perfect vacation spot

April 5, 2014

My sisters and I with 2 nephews and a Grandchild stayed at the Villa for a week. The house was great. There was plenty of room for all of us and the swimming pool was just what you needed after a day of touring. It is in a little gated neighborhood so you feel really safe. You can just walk down the drive to the beach. If you went left you could walk to Punta Santiago (a typical Puerto Rican village) and if you went right you go to a nature Preserve (a cool oasis in the forest) for bird and lizzard watching. The town of Humacao just south of the Villa had a large shopping mall with everything you might find in the US. including WALMART and JC Penny's, We took rides up and down route 3. It goes through the countryside and through numeroue little villages but beware, you are sharing the road with horses and bycyles an there are no sholders.

The house was as advertised. Some very minor hiccups regarding hot water but once you get used to the system, it was just a quirk. Very quiet surroundings and a gorgeous view. I would definitely recommend this vacation rental.

Fantastic Time

August 17, 2012

We arrived with a family of 11 and left with wonderful memories. The house was more than adequate, especially the kitchen. The pool and outdoor area was gorgeous! We were duly impressed with the amount of space and room the house provided. The location requires the use of a vehicle, although, there is a Nature Preserve nearby that provides a nice hike. Food and groceries are nearby and very conveniently located. The overall experience was really awesome!!

2012 Puerto Rico Family Vacation

July 26, 2012

The interior of the house is very neat and clean. The floor tiles are well maintained throughout the house. The bathrooms, especially the master, appears to have been upgraded with new tile and bath fixtures which pleasantly enchances the appearance of each bathroom. The house has WIFI which really helped with smartphones & laptops. The pool area is great. The lawn is very well manicured and the landscaping is excellent. Sam is a very attentive manager. He made himself available to us whenever we needed him and was kind & courteous. I would definitely consider staying at this location again and also highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a location within an hours drive to Ponce, San Juan, El Yunque, Fajardo, Luquillo, and so much more......

fantastic place

June 18, 2012

these ten days have been unbelievable. It was awesome the house with all the comfort of our little house in Texas.the cool weather on the skirt of El Yunque was unique for this time of the year. The closeness to other recreation public areas like of course El Yunque, Luquillo beach, Las Croabas, the Vieques ferry and more. Also the big metropoli of San Juan and surrounding towns like Carolina, Guaynabo, rio piedras, santurce, catano, bayamon, caguas, and many others.. Isla verde beach, Pinones, Ocean Park, Condado, EL Escambron, and more were my favorites without mentioning Luquillo Beach of course. This location was perfect for us to stay very close to some of our family that resides in Canovanas, Carolina, and Caguas y Gurabo. When we went east on the 65infantry highway known number 3 we had access to grocerie places, restaurants, bakeries, pharmaciesto procure Advill and Alkazelzer and also to the west of it. We missed out the Musica Jibara Festival in Comerio but it was priceless the good quality time spent with our family. we did have some down time to recharge our energy monday 11 june 2012. We have to save more money to plan for another staying at this place and see all the places we didn't get to see this time around.. Von Voyage to all those futures guest at tis marvelous house. Special thanks to quique and his wife for being our great hosts and all of the things they done for us.
