Welcome to Hyannisport Hideaway - a lovely 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom house, tucked away from the Cape's summer hustle and bustle on a quiet cul-de-sac in the historic village of Hyannisport. Surrounded by mature greenery, set away from the street, with large back and front yards, this home will be your personal Cape Cod haven! Tastefully appointed with a touch of nautical motif, equipped with all of the appliances you have come to expect, Hyannisport Hideaway will make your stay on Cape Cod pleasant and fun.
The house features 3 sunny bedrooms (2 queen bedrooms and 2 twins convertible to a king), a large modern kitchen/dining room combo and a spacious living room.
Hyannisport Hideaway is aptly named - there's a large front and back yard and both are very secluded. Due to its location on a cul-de-sac and the fact that there is almost no traffic in the area, the location is very peaceful and serene. The living room opens up directly onto the porch, bring the outdoors within.
Situated just under a mile from the famous Craigville Beach, your stay at Hyannisport Hideaway will be enhanced by its proximity to this wonderful warm Nantucket Sound beach with 5 miles of sand. It is one of the largest and most popular on Cape Cod. The water is a very pleasant temperature until early September, and the gentle swells are refreshing compared to more placid Cape waters. It is generally free of seaweed and rocks, as well. There are lifeguards and bathhouses in season, and you can always catch a game of volleyball. The long beach and foamy surf make for beautiful walks in quieter seasons.
We will provide you with a free beach-parking pass that will allow you to park your car at all of the Town of Barnstable Beaches. That includes amazing Sandy Neck beach with a lighthouse, 9,000-acre preserve with dunes, bird life, marshes, and shellfish (but a bit of a drive at 10 miles). Covell Beach, Keys Beach, Veterans Beach, Kalmus Beach (great for wind surfing) are all less than 2 miles from our home.
After spending the day enjoying your seaside adventures, you will return to a tranquil home that will welcome you with its quiet pleasures. Experience the delight of la dolce vita in this well-appointed home and grounds! Have your morning coffee on the sun-drenched porch, rest in the shady front yard, cook up your fresh catch on the grill, relax with a book or play a game with your family! For those who need to keep in touch with the office or surf the web during downtime, high speed wireless access is available free of charge.
While Hyannisport Hideaway is sheltered from the energy and noise of Cape in summer, it's a quick drive (less than 2 miles) to the vibrant Main St in Hyannis - home to the Kennedy Museum, numerous restaurants, ice cream parlors, bookshops, boutiques, a carousel, and family amusement centers. Enjoy Thursday night parade or listen to live music in one of the pubs. Take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, catch a whale-watching cruise out of Barnstable Harbor, a deep sea fishing expedition from Hyannis, take a drive along Old King's Highway and do a little antiquing, catch a game of golf at any of the nearby golf courses or just enjoy the sea breeze in the backyard. Whatever is your idea of summer fun on the Cape, Hyannisport Hideaway can make your stay more memorable!
The house is not toddler proof, but well-behaved school age children are welcome.
The rental period is Saturday to Saturday during high and shoulder season, shorter rentals possible November - April.
No Smoking, please. One dog is welcome at an additional charge from September to May. No Pets June-August.

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Hyannisport, Massachusetts
A Perfect home away from home!
August 15, 2014
Julia, the property owner, has thought of everything to make this a true home away from home. The home is charming! A beautiful front yard and a lovely and private backyard - with outdoor shower with warm water, a great outside table with umbrella and chairs, even a clothes hanger and clothespins in the laundry room! The interior is LOVELY. A great living room with cable, internet, a DVD player. Incredibly comfortable beds and sheets. (They even have two bathrobes in the closets!) A fully stocked chicken with everything you can think of - even a Keurig coffee maker. A great clothes washer and dryer that we used almost every day, and of course they have everything you need - including laundry detergent and bleach - ready so you don't have to run to the market when you first get there to stock the shelves with paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing soap, etc. The garage is great! It includes great beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler to bring to the beach - and beach towels are included in each bedroom. We don't have children but there are all kinds of beach toys, beach boards, even bicycles and helmets! The home is on a quiet, lovely cul-de-sac. I took a nice walk along the quiet, country roads every morning. Just lovely! The central AC works GREAT! This is our second stay. Each time we stayed for two weeks, and each time, we wanted to stay even longer! There is a local beach - Craigville - just minutes from the house (3 miles) and there is free parking with the permit included in the rental. We loved the beach. Last year we explored a bunch of different beaches but this year we just stayed local and loved it! There is a great place - Cape Fish and Lobster Company - that is minutes from the house! They will steam lobsters and clams for you to pick up and take home and it's so close that they are still steaming hot when you get home! I cannot say enough great things about this home. Worth every penny! And best of all, if there are any questions whatsoever, Julia responds IMMEDIATELY!! She really cares about her guests and their vacation experience!
Dear Barbara, thank you for returning to Hyannisport Hideaway and for being such wonderful guests. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time on the Cape at our home and found it well equipped and well located. (There are 2 beaches that are a little closer than Craigville to us - Fortes beach is about 0.7 miles and Covell beach (residential section of Craigville beach) is about 1.3 miles.) We appreciate the opportunity to welcome you again and hope to see you in again in 2015!
Excellent, Family Friendly House!
July 6, 2014
We loved this house! Julia was excellent at answering all of our questions leading up to our stay. We came with two kids (age 6 and 8) and our 10 month old son. The house was very baby and family friendly. There is a pack and play and high chair available which left us more room in the car, and Julia also offered to supply other baby items if needed. There was also a rocking chair in the living room which I moved to the baby's room to rock him to sleep. He was able to crawl all through the house without getting into trouble and the older kids loved their room. Beds were all very comfortable. The kids loved the chocolates left on the beds. We LOVED the outdoor shower. After each beach day, the kids went running straight to it from the car, the baby got rinsed off, and the grownups enjoyed washing up in the sunshine as well. The garage had all the items we needed for the beach, I only had to bring a beach blanket. The house was very clean and well stocked with coffee, tea, paper products, etc. The grocery store is only 5 minutes down the road. We didn't cook nearly as much as we thought we would (couldn't resist all the nearby seafood!) but the kitchen is very well equipped and all modern appliances. The binder of suggested activities was a huge help - the beaches nearby were nice, and Julia's suggestion of Mayflower Beach (30 minutes away) was our favorite! Great tide pools and sand bars for the kids to play. Hyannis is ten minutes away with lots of great seafood restaurants on the water, and Main street for little shops. We took a daytrip to Provincetown (1.5 hours away) and did a great little Pirate Adventure trip in Hyannis that the kids loved. In summary - great, cozy, well equipped house on a quiet street but close enough to all the action! It was a wonderful, relaxing, fun week and we look forward to coming back again in the future!
Dear Jackie, it was an absolute pleasure hosting your family and talking with you throughout the reservation process and stay. We will consider ourselves privileged to welcome you again, should you return to the Cape!
We do strive to make our guests lives' easier and as parents ourselves know all too well the stress of packing and carrying baby paraphernalia. So we try to do what we can to make the house family friendly and well stocked. So glad that you enjoyed our location and amenities!
great place, great communications, well stocked
June 30, 2014
We stayed in the Hyannis Port getway rental early April (over the easter break). I found email communications with the owner to be superb - We were kept well informed all the way leading up to and during the rental. The rental itself was well stocked - plenty of extras like tea, coffee, spices, paper towels etc. The location was great - quiet, but close to the beaches and Hyannis. The stay exceeded our expectations
Thank you very much for choosing our home for your stay and your kind words! We do enjoy a quite but central location and proximity to great beaches have always been a great convenience and a major draw for guests. Very happy to hear that you have enjoyed your stay and that we met your expectations. Hope you have a wonderful summer!
"What a wonderful long weekend we spent at your beautiful home! Cozy, comfortable, and spotlessly clean! The "guest info" book was a great help in finding places to eat and take long walks with our dog. She just loved all the beaches and parks! But our favorite things were the well-equipped kitchen, top-quality linens, and BIG coffee mugs. You can bet we'll be back!" - Judy & Paul, Nashua, NH, 10/24/06 (rentors)
"This vacation home was even better than expected! It will be tough to find a better house to stay at. Everything was perfectly clean, designed and equipped - just like home. I will recommend this place to everybody I know!" - Maike Alberti, Boston,MA, 10/10/06 (rentors)
"Dear Julia:This is the first time we rented a vacation home and to our delight it was the right choice.Your home is both pleasing to the eye and a relaxing get away. We were pleasantly surprised by the many amenities provided for your guests far and above what one would expect. It is evident that a lot of thought and care has gone into your home. Many thanks to you and your staff for a great stay and for making us feel at home in Hyannis." - Antanis |, 09/20/06 (rentors)
"We stayed at the Hyannisport Hideaway in early August, and were extremely happy with our choice. We've rented houses for over 15 years, and the Hideaway was the most well-equipped house we've ever experienced. Our 8 yr.old twins loved the beach toys, games, books, and boogie boards, while we loved not having to pack beach chairs, towels, and other cooking/grocery essentials. The house provided easy access to other Cape locations and included lots of tourist info. and maps to help plan our days. The house definitely added to the quality of our trip." - Marianne, 08/18/06 (rentors)
"Julia and Chuck, What a wonderful week at your awesome house! Your house had everything plus more, we loved your private back yard, and the close distance to the beaches. Thanks for sharing your home with us. The Michaud Family!p.s. we hope to be back next year!" - Anonymous, 08/06/06 (rentors)

"Thank you so much to Julia and Chuck for making our holiday so fantastic. The house and garden are wonderful and EVERYTHING has been catered for even down buckets and spades for the children. We didn't even need to bring our beach towels and so could spend more money down the Cape Cod Mall since we had more luggage space! The beaches are wonderful and the scenery amazing. We all fell in love with Hyannis Port and can highly recommend it anyone wishing to discover New England and Cape Cod. It rained on the odd day but there is so much to do it didn't matter. We met some charming American families and we hope to return next year. WE LOVED IT." - Elaine Tyner, Kent England, 06/12/06 (rentors)
"We could not have asked for such a perfect home and everything available for us all. We loved staying here. The beaches and scenery is spectacular and we all want to come back next year. Weather was some days hot and some raining but it didn't matter at all. Thanks again Julia and Chuck and see you next year. P.S. I loved the Cape Cod Mall!" - The Tyners, U.K., 06/10/06 (rentors)

"I was so worried about finding the perfect place to stay on Cape Cod and not only was HyannisPort the perfect location on Cape Cod, but this was the perfect house to stay in. This is an EXCELLENT choice for your stay on Cape Cod!! You can't find better accomodations. The owners thought of everything...right down to the beach toys for kids, books and games, beach chairs, laundry room supplies, and the list goes on! The house was immaculate and had every ammentiy of home. Super location in quite neighborhood, but with quick/easy access to the beaches and town. I would definitely stay here again." - Kayla, Alexandria, LA |, 04/28/06 (rentors)
"Our first trip to New England and Cape Cod! What a beautiful place to visit. Your home is lovely - you though of everything. It was so nice to have beach chairs and mats - things that you can't bring on the airplane. Everything was so nice and clean - just like home! Thanks for sharing with us." - Kayla and Mike Areindale, Alexandria, LA, 04/21/06 (rentors)
"Thank you so much for everything! The effort and care you put into the house is truly appreciated and delightful! It was wonderful to have such a warm house to spend a week in, getting us all out of various busy and chaotic "city" life! Thank you so much again - we hope to be back." - Nicole Lalonde, Detroit, MI, 03/18/06 (rentors)
"Some friends and I stayed at this house, and we found it a phenomenal place for some retreat and quiet and fun time. The owners were a dream to deal with - communicative in a timely fashion, hospitable, and caring. This translated into making sure we had whatever we needed, arrived safely, had suggestions for groceries and cleaning. Without ever meeting them, there was the impression in the house of having gracious hosts. The house itself was immaculately clean and more than that, homey and comfortable. It would be a pleasure to stay in any of their properties, and I have absolutely no reserve about recommending this place to others based on the entire experience with the owners and property itself." - Gayle, San Francisco, CA |, 02/26/06 (rentors)
"The Hideway was a great Christmas getaway for my family and I. Perfect accomodations for my parents, two brother, me, and my husband. Cozy - but private enough that we didn't feel we were always on top of each other. For a family that likes to cook, the kitchen is a huge bonus... we made a full holiday dinner - Mom even baked her cookies there. Our only wish - a vaccuum cleaner! Even though there is a housekeeping service which comes in before and after you're there, we like to keep things neat while we're there. (Esp. with Xmas tree needles, or sand in the summer). We'll definitely be back - thanks Julia for all your help. The place is obviously well cared-for and all guest will appreciate that." - Amy Pickering, Brooklyn, NY, 12/28/05 (rentors)
"Since this was the first time renting a home over the internet, I was a little nervous, however, I couldn't have picked a more comfortable, warm, fully equipped, inviting home. The owners have gone to great lengths to ensure the comfort of their guests (ie, a supply of new toothbrushes in the bathroom in case you forgot yours). We plan on having our "Quilt Weekends" here for many years to come." - Helene R. Egilman, Foxboro, Massachusetts |, 11/22/05 (rentors)
"Our Fall "Quilting" Weekend. We determined that it's our 12th year getting away. How our lives changed over the course of time. Helene finally actually quilted! Joan ran every morning! Awesome weather! All your efforts to make your guests comfortable are evident. Thank you so much. Can't wait until Spring weekend." - Helene, Joan, Nancy, Marianne, Su, MA, RI, NH, 11/06/05 (rentors)
"Your home is as welcoming and beautiful and it appeared on the website. We were so comfortable there and had such nice long chats in the inviting kitchen. We entertained newly found family and it was the perfect spot for it. We were all so at ease in our surroundings. Early morning bike rides and sunset strolls along Craigville Beach - not to mention the central location on the Cape were all added bonuses. The entire transaction was efficient and professional and we hope to come back next year. Thank you for sharing with us." - Marcy & Debbie, San Diego, CA |, 11/02/05 (rentors)
"We had weather that ran the gamut - snow one nite, 63 degrees the next! Connected with long lost family and relaxed in your beautiful home. So welcoming at the end of a long day! We hope to be back - I've stayed in rentals all over the world - you're definitely head and shoulders over the rest! Sunset and sunrise walks on the beach - ahhh!!! Thank you! "Dear Chuck and Julia, Thank you so much for sharing your home with us for our Cape Cod holiday. We arranged our accomodation at Hyannis Hideaway more than two months in advance; therefore, had much anticipation and excitement leading up to our arrival. As we got closer in our twelve hour drive we began to get nervous about what to expect. We had sent off a cheque to someone we had never seen. What if this place doesn't exist? Not only did it exist, but it was most beautiful. The interent pictures of your home were exactly the way the home is set up. Cleanliness and attention to detail is certainly at the forefront of the owners.Mother-in-law who flew in for a few days was very impressed with all of the modern appliances and comforts of home. She was very happy with the choice of our Hyannis Hideaway. The kitchen and dining area made for enjoyable Cape Cod cooking and conversations. Cooking in the big kitchen did not seem to be a chore like at home. We actually enjoyed our home cooked meals much more than the evenings we went out! The living room area is a comfy, cozy place to unwind after long days. After a few night caps on the deck, retiring the the airconditioned bedrooms was an added pleasure. The boys were very intigued by and raced home to the outdoor shower after our days at the Beach! The nautical theme throughout the home adds to the Cape Cod experience. It was the most enjoyable way to spend our 18th Wedding Anniversary with our boys. We hope to return to Cape Cod again and will plan early to ensure a vacancy the Hyannis Hideaway. We really appreciated the bikes available in the garage for our rides to the convenience store for a morning paper and for Julia's extra efforts with suggestions and ideas, adding to our great holiday! Deb, Glenn, Wesley and Mitchell Oshawa, Ontario, Canada" - Deb and Glenn Koeper, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada |, 08/19/05 (rentors)
"Can't express what a wonderful way to spend our 18th anniversary with our boys. Your home is most inviting, beaches were fantastic!!! Whale watching, parasailing, sailing, etc were all terrific!!! It's a also a beautiful place to kayak. Fourteen and sixteenyear old boys are sometimes hard to please but there was not any signs of dificulties here, they were thrilled and loved your home. We had the most perfect holiday!!! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be sure to come back and will definitely pass your name to others. Cape Cod is a truly most relaxing vacation spot. Thank you!" - Deb and Glenn Koeper, Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, 08/13/05 (rentors)
"It was a perfect week! The house and yard was perfect, we got to enjoy the deck and yard. The beach was wonderful! I got to spend quality time with my grandson and my son and daughter-in-law. It was a peaceful week for my family. My youngest son and daughter spent a day with us during the week. My daughter spent Sunday with us and my youngest son was able to spend time with us on Tuesday. My daughter-in-law thought I did good. The house was much more than she expected. We loved the kitchen! We spent alot of time together in the kitchen because my son did all the cooking and we always seem to gather in the kitchen and dining room together when we are at home. My daughter-in-law wants to make it a yearly trip now. We all enjoyed being together in your home. I can't thank you enough. The weather, the house, the beaches, everything was perfect! We had a great time, my grandson and I. " - Jo-Ann Lord, Assonet, MA, 07/30/05 (rentors)
"Thank you so much for the use of your lovely home. We had a great time. The house is wonderful. You have done a terrific job of stocking everything one can possibly need. It was so nice having a few staples to use... I just can't say how thankful we are to have been able to stay in such a nice, clean place. It made all the difference in our vacation. We enjoyed having the bikes, AC, the W/D...just everything. I know it is very difficult to rent sight unseen from a stranger. I was a bit worried, but I pretty much said whatever happens, happens! What a relief it was though to arrive and see how clean and well kept your home was. It definitely surpassed our expectations. You have been so professional, and have provided such excellent service. My husband and I were amazed! You have thought of everything, down to the tool to adjust the bike seats! I told all my friends on the Cape. They were amazed too. Most rentals don't provide all those details. Biking to Hyannisport, early in the morning, and grabbing a cup of coffee at the country store was great fun...beautiful views! You made that possible!" - M. Bradley, Miami, FL, 07/23/05 (rentors)
"Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful house and for thinking of all of the wonderful small things that make the stay so much more comfortable. We loved the beaches. Ben and Anne couldn't get enough the ocean when it was a little chilly for us adults. It was a great family escape! We really appreciated the lengths you went to in the hopes of making our stay enjoyable. We have stayed at many different places and yours is really one of the best. That is the case for us merely because you seemed to really care about what we might have needed. So thank you for that. We hope to return one day. Have a great rest of your summer. Edisio, Kathy, Ben and Anne Semeao" - Kathy and Edisio Semeao, Philadelpha, PA, 07/16/05 (rentors)
