Description of the Imperial Beach vacation condo rental
In beautiful unspoiled Imperial Beach lies an oasis...just 15 minutes from downtown San Diego but you might as well be an ocean away. Imperial Beach is quite possibly the last undiscovered beach town in California. Just south of the crowds and chaos of Coronado, this spacious, quiet condo provides you with easy access to peaceful beaches, beautiful sunsets and the simple opportunity to unwind. Literally less than 50 steps to the sand and water, this 2000 square foot home is not a party condo, but a wonderfully appointed retreat for families and groups looking to get away to the warmth of sun and sand with out paying huge luxury hotel bills!

This home offers 4 full bedrooms and if you stay once, you’ll want to come back to this same location. The kitchen is well appointed, the rooms are comfortable and roomy, the living room has space for everyone to meet and share. Three bedrooms are equipped with a T.V., DVD, VCR and cable. Wireless Internet access is also included. The Kitchen is fully equipped with a large refrigerator (ice maker and cold water dispenser), a double oven gas range with stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher as well as a coffee maker and Vitamix blender.

We are 8 blocks from the grocery store and pharmacy, 3 blocks from the ice cream shop, 3 blocks from the pier and the famous Tin Fish restaurant and a pleasant walk to the Tijuana Wildlife Refuge and Estuary, a RAMSAR site and one of the foremost reserves in California, with its hiking and biking trails.

Imperial Beach offers easy access to San Diego – we are 25 minutes drive from Knott’s Soak City, 20 minutes to the famous San Diego Zoo, 20 minutes to Sea World, 20 minutes to the airport, 10 minutes to Mexico and 1 minute to the beach! While the pictures tell much of the store, this condo is just next door to Kath's Cafe' one of the more popular cafes in town and is adjacent to our lovely D'ames Day Spa and 1 block away from a park with picnic and playground facilities.

I feel that you will be very happy with your stay here.

Our family decided to do something untraditioal this year and we are really happy that we did. Our stay was great. The location was perfect for the day trips we took, coming home to such a beautiful location made relaxing effortless. It is our hope that my husband and I will be able to return, for a little R&R. Thank you for everything.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Exceeded Expectations!

We were looking for a place to get away one weekend, a place of rest, beauty, tranquility and comfort. The moment I walked in, the warmth was in the detailsâthe gilded mirror in the hallway, the plush couch, a chandelier of umber candles. It was a touch of elegance matched by cozy comfort. The details on the mantle, the three high windows painted to look like something in an Italian villa, were what added to the exquisite feel of the place. The huge dining table was perfect for all the conversations that happened in the evenings, the kitchen spacious enough to cook our intimate meals. In the afternoon, one could sit outside on the patio, listen to the sounds of the ocean and the drifting conversations down below, and if so desired, the ocean was a one-minute walk away, with a volleyball net in view and a vista of amazing waves. Each bedroom had its own unique theme, and the mattress on the beds reminded me of the fairytale, âThe Princess and the Pea.â The rest was incredibleâfor mind, body and soul. Right next door was a quaint local coffeeshop perfect for morning coffee and a people-viewing. All in all, my expectations for the weekend were superseded in every way, and I am looking forward to another visit.

We had a fantastic experience at this condo over a 3 day stay. The accommodations were perfect and as advertised. A short walk to the beach and the owner provided everything needed for playing in the sand and water. This part of CA has lots of wild life; we saw many dolphins, sea lions, and pelicans each day. Highly recommend it.

Owner response: It was certainly very nice having you all stay in my condo at the beach. I hope that you come again and stay longer the next time. Thank you for reviewing your experience. I hope to see you next year.

We had a wonderful stay in this roomy condo. It had everything you need from towels, soaps, beach chairs, great comfy beds. It even looks better in person than the photos. The ocean views from the bedroom are awsome. The coffee shop next door had great stuff. We were there for my daughters wedding in San Diego and enjoyed every minute there. Christine was so nice and my daughters new father-in -law raved about the massage he got at the Dames Spa. We walked to the esturary and saw Dolphins in the ocean, The pier has a nice restaurant at the end of it too. Thank you Christine, See you next year! Bonnie and Jim Deerfield Beach, Florida

Owner response: Your stay made everyday fun. I was always running into a new family member that came in for the wedding. Everyone was so nice and as friendly as could be. I do so hope you and your family return every year for the anniversary of your daughters wedding, what a great reason to vacation. Just let me know and I will be sure to save the date as 'Bonnie's standing yearly vacation reservation'.
Until next time, be safe and God Bless.

We stayed at this Imperial Beach condo for 4 nights with our family of 3 adults and 4 small children from the 5th July. It is beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable and homely. We loved the extra touches like condiments and spices in the pantry and extra beach towels and shampoos and body lotions. Although it was unseasonably cool when we were there, the beach is fabulous for families. There was a large choice of nearby food. The condo is very large and has a lovely upstairs loft bedroom with its own bathroom. We went to Seaworld and the zoo in San Diego and found the distance very easy. Imperial Beach has a lovely peaceful beachy atmosphere, but is so close to all San Diego has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this accomodation.

Owner response: Dear Anne and Bruce,
Thank you for your kind words describing your stay here at the beach. I am so glad things were to your liking. I hope the rest of your trip across the states has been as enjoyable for you. I know New York city had much higher temperature than California. You are a lovely family. I do hope you come back and visit Imperial Beach again, preferably for you when its warmer. They says its been 70 some years since we've had a July this cool.

Annual family vacation

My family (6 adults and 3 children) spent a wonderful week here. The unit is quite nice and roomy, clean, and with easy beach access. The children (ages 10 to 16) had a private loft bedroom with their own bathroom, so they could do their thing without disturbing the adults. The owner is friendly and helpful, and provided beach chairs and Boogie Boards for us to use. We spent most of our time at the beach, but also went to Belmont amusement park (about 25 minutes away). I highly recommend this place if you are a beach lover, and it's not far from Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and all the activities in Balboa Park. Plus it's close to Mexico if you want to cross the border.

Owner response: Dear Bob and Fran,
I'd like to thank you for your kind review and for being such great guests. Half the fun of having a place at the beach is watching people enjoy it and your family certainly enjoyed it. The chairs, boggie boards, umbrella and toys were always in use with or without the sun. I hope you and your lovely family return real soon.

Amazing attention to detail as we were treated as royalty. We opened our windows to hear and smell the ocean at night, walked on the beach every morning, next door for great coffee, and it was close to the Pier and other great local restaurants. We spent time downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, cruised in the Harbor, visited Hotel Del Coronado, etc. and were always back within 20 minutes. We will be back as we are now addicted to the beach!

We just came home from our wonderful stay in this lovely beach condo. It was huge, immaculate, and the beds were comfortable. The beach was only a few steps out the back door and across a small driveway. Imperial Beach is a charming town; there are lots of little places to eat close by. Our favorite was The Tin Fish, an informal seafood place at the end of the IB pier. The seafood was very good and it was fun to eat outside and watch the sun go down over the ocean. We brought our family of teenagers and 20 somethings and they had fun hanging out at the beach for a wonderful week between college semesters. We plan to return; the owner is a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome.

I stayed here over the week of July 4th with my extended family (all 8 adults and two children). We had a FANTASTIC time. Property was better than described, clean and well maintained, Christine was terrific in every aspect and very attentive to our questions and requests. The beach is literally a stone's throw away and the property is in excellent shape. Everyone had plenty of room of their own and we made several full family meals with no issues. Plenty of pots and pans, dishes, linens, etc. The next time we head back to the area, we will definitely stay here again and I would HIGHLY recommend this for a family getaway. Close drive to San Diego to not feel out of town and yet, out of town enough to have a nice beach with less than half the San Diego crowds. Beach and ocean here were great. Don't buy into any hype about dirty Tijuana water making this area unswimmable. We didn't experience anything like that during our stay and played in the ocean all week. Surf was just as good as up near Mission Beach too. The wives took a day to use the spa downstairs as well and were very satisfied with the treatments they received. Only complaint is that we didn't book two weeks to stay. Can't think of enough nice things to say about Christine and her property. Thank you, thank you, thank you! - Don

I stayed here with a large group of friends for the weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. Great location, great discount at a wonderful dayspa, and fully stocked with all the amenities that you would want in a vacation rental. The owner was very pleasant and friendly and made us feel very welcome upon checkin. We'll definitely be returning on our next trip.
